ANNUAL CELEBRATIONAND AWARDSThe Foundation kicked-off its final year of the “We Give First”campaign at the Annual Celebration at the Cabarrus CountryClub to honor current and past leaders, Board of Directors,community donors and corporate partners who havecontributed to its success.Board Chair Pat Horton and NorthEast FoundationPresident Charlie Sastoque hosted the evening, and took theopportunity to introduce Chris Bowe, Asha Rodriguez and Dr.Cameron Cruickshank and their new roles and responsibilitieswithin Atrium Health and the Cabarrus College of HealthSciences.A testimonial was provided by Kannapolisresident Alex Brandon, who sufferedfour strokes at the age of 26. His storyof how a positive outlook, the support ofstaff at Atrium Health Cabarrus and ourrehab facility, along with rehab equipmentfunded by our donors have transformedhim from a quadriplegic to being uprightand walking again. His wit, charm andamazing outlook on life were a highlight of the evening.The NorthEast Foundation also acknowledged Past ImmediateBoard Chair Dakeita Vanderburg for her leadership andguidance over the past two years as well as thanking threedistinguished members of the community who rolled off theBoard in 2020, Dr. Scott Baker, William Connolly, Sr. and JohnMorrison, Jr.
