9.2 Planning guide<br />

Geniax BUS system<br />

Once the hydraulic planning has been completed, the EMPUR ®<br />

Geniax BUS must then be planned. True-to-scale building<br />

plans are an imperative prerequisite for this. The exact line<br />

lengths are required to determine an adequate power supply.<br />

The installation location of the room control units is determined<br />

by the room layout and is normally on the inner walls.<br />

During the hydraulic planning stage, the installation locations<br />

for pumps and their electronics are fixed (distance of pump<br />

to electronics max. 1.5 m). In the vicinity of the heat generator,<br />

the next step is to determine the installation location of<br />

the control cabinet for the Geniax server and power supply.<br />

From the server, the lines of the Geniax BUS are planned<br />

according to the specifications described in the EMPUR ®<br />

Geniax planning manual. For branching, Geniax bus couplers<br />

with power supply must be provided. The same applies to<br />

longer line lengths, where a sufficient power supply can not<br />

be guaranteed with only one central power supply.<br />

At the end of the electrical planning stage, a topological plan<br />

with all bus participants and cable paths is created. The topological<br />

plan describes the arrangement of bus participants<br />

and the cable routing in buildings, taking into account the<br />

specific characteristics of the bus participants.<br />

Configuration<br />

Once all components including the mass flows and the control<br />

concept are fixed, the essential details are transferred<br />

to the configuration. The configuration file created using the<br />

configuration software is saved on an SD card and inserted<br />

into the server for commissioning. In doing so, the configuration<br />

is automatically uploaded to the server. This file<br />

forms the basis for all component assignments and their<br />

control functions.<br />

Commissioning and functional checks<br />

Trained EMPUR ® customer service technicians carry out<br />

commissioning and functional checks in Germany.<br />
