Chiltern2020 marks the 40th anniversary of ChilternBrewery’s first brew back in 1980. To starttheir 40th year they wanted to brew a beerthat represented their unique heritage andcommitment to innovation andauthenticity. In their brewingarchives they came across one ofthe most popular beers they haveever brewed – a beer they brewedin collaboration with CAMRA andMr Roger Protz to mark the 40thAnniversary of the Good Beer Guideback in 2013. It was a dark ruby huewith a lusciously rich and complexmalt base. They have recreated thatbeer in draught form at a quaffable 4.5%ABV (1045 OG). The five grains and five hopsproduce a big and bold beer with notes of cedarand raisins. Each grain and hop represent oneof their four decades; the fifth is a nod to thefuture.Following their popularity when first releasedin 2019, Table Beer and 3 Thread Stout willreturn in February.Celebrating thetraditional style oftable beers, TableBeer is the resultof over 12 monthstweaking &improving to createa perfect lowalcoholale (2%ABV). Packing thesame amount of ingredients and flavour of astronger beer, Table Beer offers marmaladenotes with a malty base.3 Thread Stout is a blend of the Vintage alewith fresh 300s Old ale and Table Beer tocreate a dark & indulgent 5% ABV stout.LoddonHead brewer Jake has lined-up a loadof new beers for 2020, carrying onthe theme of brewing totally newstyles while remaining loyal to corebrands. It’s hopped withEkuanot, Citra, Hallertau Blancand Mandarina Bavaria.Another release that they’re veryexcited about is REFRACTIONS,Mine’s A Pint10
but for the time being this one is keg only. It’sa brand new 4.2% ABV Session IPA and we’reall super excited about it. Expect it to make itsway into cask, and possibly cans at some stagein the future.with local honeyfrom MeadowHoney Farm. Honeynuances complementthe bold US hopadditions, achievingthe perfect blend offlavour, aroma &refreshment.West BerkshireTo kick off their 25th anniversary celebrations,West Berks has released the first of theirquadranscentennial beers, Golden Age.
