terms of call to The Rev.
Dr. Douglas D. Gerdts to
serve as its transitional
pastor.
Currently the senior
pastor at First & Central
Presbyterian Church in
Wilmington DE, he will
begin his tenure in
Haddonfield on June 22.
He will take over from
The Rev. Bill Getman,
who is retiring at the
end of April after serving
here for 18 years. (See
The Last Word, page 30.)
Dr. Gerdts has been
pastor/head of staff in
medium- and large-size
congregations for 20
years, including 6 years
at a congregation larger
than Haddonfield’s.
A typical transitional
term is 12 to 18 months.
