coach wanted us to be the best we

could be, but going to practice was

fun! I’ve met some of my lifelong

friends from cheering at LaGrange

College.

CCP: What have you accomplished

since graduating from Lagrange

College?

ALFORD: Since graduating from LC

in 2016, I went back to school and

got my Masters Degree in Teaching

(MAT). I met my husband at LC

and we got married in May 2018.

I am now starting my third year as

the head cheerleading coach for

LaGrange College.

CCP: What do you hope for your

(future) kids as student athletes?

ALFORD: My hope for my future kids

as a student athlete would be to not

listen to the ones that tell you it’s not

possible. If that’s your passion, go for

it! Prove those people wrong. This

could be about their academics or

athletics.

CCP: What advice would you

impart on student athletes in Coweta

County?

ALFORD: My advice for the student

athletes in Coweta County would

be to enjoy the sport you love for as

long as you can! Take it seriously,

but don’t get so caught up in the

competition of it that you don’t have

fun doing it anymore. There will

come a day when you can’t be on

that field or court anymore, so make

the most of the time you have and

enjoy it while you can. Don’t take

opportunities for granted.
