Being the servants of God,we are now and then expected tobe able to make firm decisions onmatters that require a decision forthem to move forward. This is whatto consider…GOD'S WILLJesus said to them, “My food is todo the will of Him who sent Me,and to finish His work - John 4:34Our sole purpose is to do the will ofGod. Jesus came to set the captivesfree and through us He continuesto do so. We each have a gift anda call upon our lives to help usaccomplish what we are mandatedto do. It is important to keep noteof the call and the will of God whenfaced with a decisionCONSULT HIS WORDWhat does the word of God sayabout your kind of dilemma? Thereis scripture about one person oranother who was in a similarposition. What decision did theytake and can you live with similarconsequences?SEEK GUIDANCEGod has given us each other asfellow servants in Christ. Consultthem to hear their wisdom on thematter. They might agree withwhat you are thinking, but theyalso might not. Do not bediscouraged by the disagreementfor it only signifies that there is butone God and all things end withHim. Peter and Paul disagreedabout circumcision to a point ofseparation. It doesn't mean thatthe one’s view was better than theother. It simply means, God is Godalone and does what pleases God.However, in the counsel of manythere is wisdomACCEPTING CONSEQUENCESUnderstand that every decision hasits consequences whether good or'bad'. When you make one optionyou forfeit the benefit of the other.When King David decided to takethe wife of his servant, he had tobear the consequences of thatdecision. So whatever decision youmake be prepared to accept itsconsequences.THOUGHT PROCESSOur spirit is the one which is joinedtogether with Christ. Romans8:16, The Spirit bears witness withour spirit that we are the childrenof God.Romans 8:27, Now, He whosearches the hearts knows whatthe mind of the Spirit is, becauseHe makes intercession for thesaints according to the will of God.You maybe propelled to use themind of the flesh to process yourdilemma, but the mind of the fleshonly knows the things of the fleshand is pleasing to it. But the mindof the spirit knows the will of God.Therefore, use not the mind of theflesh to process but the mind of theSpirit. The Spirit of God searchesthe mind of the Spirit and returnsto it an answer according to thewill of God.DECISIONHaving done all, you are then leftwith a decision to make. Jesusprayed all night when He needed tochoose the disciples. Pray to Godfor wisdom and understanding ofwho will bear the detriment ofeither choice, as well as pray forthem in advance that they do notfall into the trap of the enemybecause of it. Keep therefore inmind that if your decision goesagainst the will of God, He will stillbring His will to pass.
