The Office of Non-Credit and Continuing Education (ONCE) of Temple University

is committed to providing quality, professional, and accessible education, along

with lifelong learning and training opportunities. We want to empower adult

learners, youth, businesses, and organizations to achieve their professional

goals through personal enrichment learning experiences. Non-credit courses

for the Summer 2020 season will be online. All courses will either be scheduled

via the Zoom platform or be entirely self-paced.

We are proud to offer hundreds of courses each year that will stimulate, expand,

and tickle your mind. For a modest fee, you can learn from instructors with reallife

experiences, explore new directions for personal growth, and refresh skills

or learn new ones.

times of social distancing, this is a great time to take

advantage of our online non-credit courses. We’re pleased

to offer a variety of professional development and personal

enrichment courses and programs that can help you achieve

your goals, or learn just for the fun of it! Be sure to browse our horticulture and

SPY, REPORTER, SLEUTH: WOMEN AT WORK

women at the work of detecting. We begin with

Laura Lippman’s Maddy Schwartz, a stay-athome

‘60s Baltimore housewife turned reporter,

risking everything to solve the mystery in Lady

in the Lake. We follow with Kate Atkinson’s

Juliet Armstrong, a young secretary summoned

to spy on British Nazis in wartime London in

Transcription. We conclude with the novel by

Philadelphia writer Liz Moore Long Bright River

about a detective who has a personal interest in

the Kensington opioid problem.

REINVENTING YOURSELF THROUGH WRITING

course is about embracing change. Emphasis

to do “when they grow up,” and for creative

writers interested in thinking outside of the box.

you purchase a webcam.
