Accounting/Business Management <strong>10</strong><br />
What’s it about?<br />
• In this study, students will be introduced to the world of Business. Students will explore how the principles of<br />
the economy operate to make Australia a wealthy first world country. Students will explore how Australians<br />
measure wealth and then investigate how we can improve wealth for all. Students will also undertake a<br />
practical task in creating a business. They will use accounting principles to help create a small business venture<br />
at Damascus College.<br />
Activities students may engage in:<br />
• Creating a small business<br />
• Play the ASX game<br />
• Research a business with which they are familiar with<br />
• Present findings in a variety of methods; essay writing, business/accounting charts/reports<br />
• Keep accounting records<br />
• Discussions with guest speakers<br />
• Develop responses to show the changing nature of Australian business today<br />
