Certificate III in Allied Health (partial) (1st & 2nd <strong>Year</strong>)<br />

Course description:<br />

Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance (partial completion) (incorporating Certificate III in Health Services<br />

Assistance): provides students with the knowledge and skills that will enhance their employment prospects in the Health<br />

industry. These qualifications cover workers who provide assistance to allied health professionals and other health<br />

professionals with the care of clients.<br />

Note: The Units 3 and 4 sequence of VCE VET Allied Health is not designed as a stand-alone study. Students are<br />

strongly advised against undertaking the Units 3 and 4 sequence without first completing Units 1 and 2.<br />

Credit in the VCE or VCAL: recognition of up to three units at Units 1 and 2 level, and two Units 3 and 4<br />

sequences.<br />

Students wishing to receive an ATAR contribution for VCE VET Allied Health must undertake scored assessment.<br />

Scored assessment is based on the Units 3 and 4 sequence of VCE VET Allied Health.<br />

Requirements:<br />

This is a two year-long course; all four semesters must be undertaken to complete the course. Scored assessment is<br />

available for VCE VET Allied Health.<br />

Successful completion of the Certificate III in Allied Health (Partial) provides a dual pathway into further VET studies<br />

• Diploma of Nursing<br />

• Diploma of Community Services<br />

Where can VET Allied Health subjects lead?<br />

This course will prepare students for further training or employment in areas such as;<br />

• Physiotherapy assistant<br />

• Occupational therapy assistant<br />

Commencement of the program will be dependent on adequate student enrolment and funding.<br />
