Ingredients per portion
Half yam tuber, 500gram tomatoes, 2 chopped onions,
250ml oil (or palm oil), pepper, 1tsp garlic powder (or
1 small piece garlic), 1 soup tablet, salt.
Preparation Time: 5 Minutes
Cooking Time: 25 Minutes
Preparation Method
Peel the yam, wash and cut in (round) slices.
Cook the yam in hot water with salt until it is
soft.
In between, wash and cut the tomatoes in small
pieces. Cook the tomatoes in a pan till the
water is dry.
Add the oil in the tomatoes and fry it. Stir now
and then. Fry for 5 minutes (after the water is
dry).
Reduce gas temperature. Add garlic, pepper
and half of the onions. Stir the stew.
Add the rest of the onions, soup tablet and salt
to taste.
Serve warm with the cooked yam
