During autumn 2014, we heard from a
collector who had bought a bracket
clock made by Joseph Smith. It is a
timepiece, with Knibb-type repeat.
When a cord is pulled, the last hour is
struck, followed by the last quarter
(ting tang). It was probably made
during the period between 1725 and
1740.
images were taken before any work
was done.
Thanks to the generosity of the owner,
we are able to include these images.
