The George Hotel in the Strand was the
setting for the meeting held in 1925
that resulted in the dissolution of the
revived Ping Pong Association and its
immediate re-birth as the Table Tennis
Association, which later became the
English Table Tennis Association. It is
still open, and is now known as “The
George on the Strand”.

No. 28 Kensington Court was the home
of Ivor Montagu’s father, Lord Swaythling,
until his death in 1927. It was
here that the Foundation Meeting of
the International Table Tennis Federation
was held on 12th December 1926.
Kensington Court is now an area of diplomatic
activity, with the embassies of
several countries located there; No. 28 is
still residential but in the form of luxury
apartments.
