Well, weare all going through struggles and taking on strain andhardship. However, if we do this alone we are going tostruggle, but if we work together we will make it through ourcurrent challenges.I hope this offers you a glimmer of hope as it did for me. Wewill all get through this situation and, if we can, should helpthose around us get through it too. Your support really doesmean hope!What is there to say about the state of our planet at the moment?To be honest, I don’t know where to start or what tosay that would even scratch the surface of what we have allgone through and will still face.With that in mind, allow me to share something with you fora moment that I hope will offer some light for you in the sameway it did for me.A few weeks ago I watched a film called “The Mighty”, arather unassuming movie from 1998 that carries a verypowerful message. The plot follows two schoolboys, Kevinand Max, who form a bond with one another over the similarcircumstances they share. Kevin is physically disabled andwalks with crutches, whereas Max is physically large andstrong but has a learning disability. One day Kevin is selectedto tutor Max in reading class and decides to read a book aboutthe Knights of the Round Table.While reading, the two boys begin to realise that, despitetheir disabilities, they could use their respective abilities tolook after one another and thus have an easier time in life.Kevin says to Max, “You need a brain and I need legs, andthe Wizard of Oz doesn't live in South Cincinnati”.They begin a long adventure together, with Maxcarrying Kevin on his shoulders, as they imagine themselvesas knights of yesteryear. All the while Kevin reminds Maxthat a knight proves his worthiness by his deeds.42
