In a world of stress, anxiety, and<br />

overwhelm, it’s no wonder we don’t reach<br />

the goals we set out for ourselves. The<br />

pressure of result-oriented goals creates<br />

negative self-talk, discouragement, and<br />

procrastination.<br />

Now, more than ever before, we need to<br />

discover our core values and take action to<br />

make time for ourselves.<br />

Values are the behaviors and ideas that are<br />

important to us. They are more important<br />

than goals, because they determine<br />

how content we are with our lives. They<br />

encourage us to prioritize accordingly, and<br />

remind us to carve out time for self-care.<br />

Decision-making becomes easier, and goals<br />

become a journey of who we are rather than<br />

an end result.<br />

That’s why planning each day with your<br />

values in mind can benefit you in the longrun!<br />

We simply need to identify our values,<br />

create goals and habits that connect with<br />

them, and regularly review our progress.<br />

Here are some basics to get you started<br />

before you use your <strong>Hemlock</strong> & <strong>Oak</strong> planner!<br />

Daily self-care icon: How have you<br />

carved out time for self-care? This icon<br />

appears in each weekly spread. It reminds<br />

you to reconnect with values that are<br />

beneficial to you.<br />

This planner uses a grid system: It’s<br />

meant to encourage you to brainstorm, mind<br />

map, flowchart, draw, hand-letter... anything<br />

you desire! It’s structured flexibility at its<br />

finest.<br />
