OUTDOOR/PLAY GUIDELINES
We recognize being outdoors is an easy way to decrease
the risk of person-to-person transmission. As climate and
classroom circumstances allow, outdoor activities, lessons,
and instruction will be encouraged.
Recess for the different cohorts is spread out on the
campus grounds.
Playground equipment is cleaned when used.
MASK DOWN OPTION
outside
not moving (they are either sitting
or standing still)
Parents who do not want their child to remove their mask must notify the front office.
The Mask Down option may be offered by the teacher under the following conditions. Students are:
8 feet physical distancing
(distance between student’s
heads/faces)
Supervised closely and strictly
by a teacher.
HYGIENE GUIDELINES
Encouraging personal hygiene is an ongoing part of
continuing education at Overbrook. Through discussions,
signage, and a positive culture, activities like hand washing
and physical distancing are promoted in every classroom
and throughout the school.
Students and teachers wash their hands
or use hand sanitizer when changing any
classroom.
Teachers in a classroom wash their hands or use sanitizer
every time a new group of students enters their room, and
if they move to another classroom to teach a new group
of students.
Students and teachers have scheduled handwashings
with soap and water as research suggests
CLASS SCHEDULES
The class schedules take into consideration the procedures
needed to ensure our protocols for returning and
remaining at Overbrook are followed. The application of
these guidelines will continue to be updated as the year
unfolds. Further information will be released for online
learning in the event that there is a need to implement
Overbrook’s Remote Synchronous Learning on a large
scale during the 2020-2021 academic year. Please see
Overbrook’s Remote Synchronous Learning section for
more information regarding continued learning.
Overbrook School provides increased transition time
between classes and lunch/recess for safety and cleaning
protocols.
Students remain in the same homeroom cohort
as much as possible while continuing academic and
non-academic offerings.
Fewer subject transitions are in place should a need
arise for an easier transition to Overbrook’s Remote
Synchronous Learning.
PARENT VISITORS
Patterning after most schools in these circumstances,
parents are allowed in the school building only for extenuating
circumstances. We look forward to the day we can
welcome you again. We will make efforts to share the special
school moments with you, as well as offer any volunteer
opportunities, in creative and meaningful ways. Your
presence in our school is highly valued and will be missed.
