SERVING OUR COMMUNITY

The Children’s Inn at NIH is a “place like
home” for sick children and their families who
travel from across the country and the world to
stay together with their families. Since 2009,
TCI has teamed up with Scott-Long to manage
and build new construction projects and
comprehensive renovations to their existing
facilities including a playground and kitchens.
CARE FOR OUR CHILDREN

The Adler Center for Caring serves as one
of the largest inpatient hospice centers on the
east coast. This multifaceted facility provides
a place for patient-focused programs with
the latest in treatment, monitoring, and caresupport
technologies. The new facility also
includes clinical offices for doctors and home
care teams serving the local region.
SERVE OUR SENIORS

Located next to the hospital at Fort Belvoir in
Virginia, the USO Wounded Warrior and
Family Center is a 16,000 SF recovery center
built for soldiers returning home after serving
their country. This facility creates a “Sense
of Home” for its occupants and includes a
theater, music room, kitchen, and recreation
rooms. Outdoor spaces include nature trails,
meditation gardens, and calming water
features.
SUPPORT OUR SOLDIERS

Inova Healthcare’s Life with Cancer facility
combines the comforts of home with a place
for cancer education and support of cancer
patients and survivors. This home provides
private and group counseling, art therapy
studios, and exercise classes specifically
designed for cancer patients. It is the only
health system affiliated resource center of its
kind in the Northern Virginia region.
COMFORT THE SUFFERING

The Lamb Center provides a safe place where
the less fortunate can get a meal, receive care
and clothing, and receive education so they
can get employed and back on a better path.
The Lamb Center is a 2-story, 10,000 SF, steelframed
structure that includes a kitchen, dining
area, laundry rooms, toilet rooms complete
with showers, offices, a nurse’s office, and
administrative areas for County employees.
HELP THE LESS FORTUNATE

National Community Church’s DC Dream
Center will provide a place in Southeast DC
to help transform lives. This community center
consists of steel framing, precast planks, and
masonry façade with curtain wall elements
and features a kitchen, recording studio, art
center, dance floors, basketball court, and roof
terraces. We are excited that this facility will
become a center of hope in the community,
providing a safe place that will help improve
and transform lives.
CULTIVATE HOPE

When VCA Alexandria Animal Hospital
wanted to renovate and add onto their existing
facility, they turned to Scott-Long to execute a
challenging project in an occupied and fully
operational hospital. The project included
the addition of a new waiting room, 2–
stop elevator, and wash/storage space, as
well as, a renovated med gas system, VRF
heating/cooling, state-of-the-art Shor-line
equipment, and upgraded finishes.
TREAT OUR PETS

When Columbia Association decided to
update the Hobbit’s Glen Golf Course
clubhouse which was originally built in
1967, Scott-Long was selected to demolish
the original clubhouse and replace it with a
new two-story facility featuring a full-service
restaurant and bar, a pro shop, conference
spaces, a golf cart servicing barn, and a new
turn house.
PROVIDE RECREATION

Scott-Long’s mission to bring our community
together has been exemplified through our
projects that promote the arts. Notable
projects include The Barns at Wolf Trap, the
Ainslie Arts Center at Episcopal High School,
Elizabeth Seton High School’s Center for
Fine Arts, The Waterford Old School and the
Winkler Botanical Preserve.
PROMOTE THE ARTS

Scott-Long is committed to providing the
building blocks for educators to shape and
inspire minds for tomorrow. As your trusted
construction department, Scott-Long’s number
one priority when working with educational
institutions is strictly enforced security to ensure
the safety of the students and faculty.
Scott-Long recognizes the strict schedule
requirements and has a consistent record of
meeting deadlines to make sure the schools
open on time.
EDUCATE OUR COMMUNITY

“Building Faith.” Two words that Scott-Long
has been passionately bringing together for
more than 110 faith-based projects in the DC
area! We take pride in actively seeking out
projects that will have a positive impact on the
community. Improving your facilities to support
your mission is often a long journey. Scott-
Long is committed to being a faithful partner
and good stewards of your resources as we
undertake this journey together.
FAITH IN OUR COMMUNITY

“Construction Without Obstruction” is one
reason why Scott-Long is considered to be
one of the leading healthcare construction
specialists in the Mid-Atlantic region. With
over 2,000 completed healthcare projects
and ongoing work in over 25 hospitals, we
possess a deep and intimate understanding
of the complexity and highly sensitive
environments of healthcare facilities.
TESTIMONIALS & AWARDS
USO WOUNDED WARRIOR AND FAMILY CENTER
Please accept my thanks for everything that the Scott-Long team did to make the Topping Out
ceremony such a success. It was a terrific event that not only reflected the great value of this
project for our wounded, ill, and injured military members but also the superb partnership and
dedication exhibited by Scott-Long and our subcontractor team to build this incredibly important
center. Please know that the effort to get the site ready and to execute the ceremony itself were
greatly appreciated by our entire USO team. The site prep, the food, the t-shirts . . . everything
. . . was just terrific.
CUSIMANO & ASSOCIATES
Alan Reyes
Senior Vice President of Operations
My opinion of Scott-Long is that they’re not what I would call a slick marketing company, they
don’t go out there and promise you all these things but when it really comes down to it they get
the job done. The relationship they build with you during the construction project is terrific and
I would suggest to talk to their references, that’s probably the best testimonial you can find and
you’ll be pleased with what you hear and you’ll become one of their good clients too.
INOVA LIFE WITH CANCER
Louis Cusimano
President
Just want to say how much I appreciate Scott-Long for staying on top of all the issues. You have
done a great job following up on everything and responding to problems right away and with
an outstanding attitude. Inova has some pretty rigorous “behavioral standards”, and I would say
your grade on those standards is 10 out of 10.
