Thisyear,Iwasgratefultobeabletointroducemyfirstinitiativeofthenominationsboxesbeforeschoolwent<br />
online.Thenominationsboxgavestudentstheopportunitytorecogniseeachother’sachievementswithinthe<br />
dancecommunity.IhavelovedtakingpartintheMondaynightJazzclassandWednesdaynightContemporary<br />
classastheyhaveprovidedsomuchenjoymentandarelieffromthestressesofyear12.<br />
WhenthedanceprogrammovedonlinetoTheHub,theonlineclassesweretheperfectopportunitytokeep<br />
activeandbringdancerightbacktothefoundations-focusingontechnique.WatchingtheSACEstudentsrecord<br />
theirdancefilmhighlightedthesenseofcommunitywehavewithintheScotchdanceprogram.<br />
IamgratefultohavehadtheopportunitytobedancecaptainalongsideHarryandithasbeenamazingseeing<br />
theperseveranceoftheStage2’sthisyear.Iwishallthebesttothe2021dancecaptains.<br />

communityisamazing.Friendshipsareformedacross<br />
yearlevelsandIbelieveitisthissenseofcommunity<br />
thatdrawspeopletothedanceprogramatScotch.My<br />
favouritedanceI’veeverperformedinwouldhaveto<br />
betheBeyoncéjazzchoreographedbyLaura.The<br />
challengingintricacyofthemovementsmeantthata<br />
lotofhardworkwasputintothedance,butthefinal<br />
performancewasworthit.<br />

thatIcould’vefoundatnootherschool.This<br />
alongsidebeingelectedoneofthe<strong>2020</strong>dance<br />
captainshassupportedmypositivedancecareerasa<br />
maleperformer.MyfavouritedanceI’vebeenapartof<br />
atScotchistheDuckandcoverroutineinyear8,asI<br />
recallgreatmemorieswhenlearningandstructuring<br />

madnessgoingonaroundus,orinourcase,the<br />
disruptiveglitches.<br />

Thisyearwehavedevelopedaworkthatplayswith<br />
theideaofbeingstuckinsideduringlockdown,going<br />
stircrazy.Wedecidedthatwewantedtocreate<br />
somethingthatreflectedthekindofyear<strong>2020</strong>has<br />
been.Asaclass,wehavehadfunexperimentingwith<br />
arangeofcircularshapesandmovementsand<br />
repetitivewalkingpatternstocommunicateourintent.<br />
Tocapitalloff,wehavepulledthecomfyhomeclothesbackoutforatruerepresentationofthe<br />
staplefashionofthisyear.
