Grading System
CALCULATING GPA
Grades in Driver's Education and Physical Education Athletics are
not used when calculating the grade point average. A base grade
point average will be determined for each student by multiplying
each semester grade by its value (A=5 B=4 C=3 D=2 F=0) and
dividing by the number of grades. Recommended grading scale: A
(100-90), B (89-80), C (79-70), D (69-60), F (59-0).
The following values will be added to the student's base grade point
average for each grade earned in an honors class:
AH=.01 BH=.008 CH=.006 DH=.004
The following values will be subtracted from the student's base grade
point average for each grade earned in a Basic I class:
A=.012 B=.014 C=.016 D=.0l8 F=.020
The following values will be subtracted from the student's base grade
point average for each grade earned in a Basic II class:
A=.03 B=.032 C=.034 D=.036 F=.038
CLASS RANK
Class rank is computed at the end of each semester and includes all
courses for which a grade is earned. The class rank is cumulative
and based on grade point average of semester grades beginning
with the 9 th grade. The location of each student’s class rank is
below that semester’s courses on the transcript.
