Industry NewsROOFERS REQUIREDProcurement for Housing (PfH) is searchingfor SME roofing and glazing contractorsacross the UK to deliver responsive repairsand voids works to social landlords for aninitial term of five years, through a newdynamic purchasing system (DPS).Procurement services provider PfH, whichhas over 900 members, has designed theDPS to help housing providers clear theirbacklog of routine repairs and procure repairsflexibly in the future. New roofing and glazingcontractors can join the DPS at any time,unlike a framework.The total value of the reactive repairs andvoids work to be procured via the DPS isestimated at £490million. For each category,contractors will be required to eithersupplement a social landlord’s in-housedirect labour organisation or to fully managean outsourced repairs and voids service,which may include call handling, repairsdiagnostics and work scheduling.The DPS helps small, local contractors bystreamlining the tender process. Oncesuppliers have passed the DPS selectionprocedure, they can quickly bid for anyopportunities by submitting a tender.
