The awning also has a number ofaccessories which can be used to personalise thissolar protection system in many ways. Thesedesign options have now been complemented bya new lighting system in the cassette.The MX-1 compact has already been on themarket for several years and is in great demand.This solar protection system is a real eye-catcherwith its futuristic-looking, deep body andilluminated front profile. The model has alreadyreceived a number of design awards for itsoutstanding appearance. The manufacturer alsooffers the awning with a range of optionsdesigned to give the product an individual touch.Now this range of options includes a new LEDlighting system integrated into the cassette."We have been offering the MX-1 compactwith an LED Line and with LED Spots in the frontprofile for some time now. And also with ambientlighting behind the front panel. Both serve to givea lighting effect that emphasises both the design ofthe awning and the modern architecture itadorns,” says Michael Gerling, director of R&D andproduction at markilux. This new lighting optioncontinues this design approach, with additionalLED Spots under the cassette highlighting thebody of the awning with discreet light. At thesame time, the façade as well as the seating areaunder the awning can be illuminated indirectly.“Modern lighting design lends a space a particularflair: through contrast, light temperature and theoccasional spotlight that draws attention tospecific details and creates an attractive play oflight,” explains Mr Gerling.The lighting options can becombined individuallyDepending on the awning width, between twoand six additional LED spotlights with a diameterof 40 millimetres can be accommodated in thebody. The power input for the spotlights and allother electrical devices is designed to be analternating mains voltage current of 230 Volt at 50Hertz with the supply unit located in the cassette.Radio-controlled operation is incorporated bymeans of a cable with a plug connector. The newlighting option can be controlled by radio signalusing an 868 Megahertz io receiver or a 433Megahertz RTS receiver in the awning as well asvia smart technology. Both ON/OFF switchoperation and a dimming function are alsoavailable. The new lighting system in the cassettecan be combined with all the previous lightingoptions, opening up even more possibilities topersonalise the MX-1 compact.60 Blinds & Shutters • ISSUE FOUR 2020
