<strong>MCAD</strong> ONLINE <strong>PSEO</strong> APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS<br />
The deadline for Fall courses is August 15. Make sure that you have completed all six<br />
steps for a complete application. Incomplete applications cannot be considered.<br />
1. <strong>MCAD</strong> <strong>PSEO</strong> APPLICATION FORM<br />
Complete the enclosed application form and return it to the Admissions Office by mail<br />
or as an email attachment.<br />
2. PERSONAL STATEMENT OF INTEREST<br />
Please share any information you feel would be helpful for us in evaluating your<br />
interest in the visual arts. Explain why you want to take an art class online. Your<br />
statement may include personal thoughts on art, technology, and your career goals.<br />
Ask yourself: “why do I want to participate in the ONLINE <strong>PSEO</strong> program at <strong>MCAD</strong>,<br />
and how does being an ONLINE art student fit into my educational goals?”<br />
3. OFFICIAL HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPT<br />
Your transcript must show that you will be a senior in the upcoming semester and<br />
have a 2.5 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale (a C plus grade point average.) Only<br />
<strong>of</strong>ficial high school transcripts will be accepted. Transcripts stamped “Issued to<br />
student” are not <strong>of</strong>ficial.<br />

4. DIGITAL PORTFOLIO OF CREATIVE WORK<br />
Your portfolio is one <strong>of</strong> the most important requirements in the admissions decision.<br />
Because you will be working online, your portfolio should consist <strong>of</strong> 8 digital<br />
examples, in JPG format, <strong>of</strong> your best and most recent work. Your portfolio should<br />
include drawings done from observation (rather than drawings copied directly from<br />
photographs or other artists’ work.) You may submit digital images <strong>of</strong> painting,<br />
sculpture, design projects, photography, film, screenshots, etc. If you have<br />
interactive work on the internet, you may submit a paragraph explaining the project<br />
and your creative role, with a working URL. All other portfolio work must be<br />
submitted as JPG attachments to email.<br />

5. TWO LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION<br />
One letter should be from your high school guidance counselor or your high school<br />
art teacher, and the other should be from a parent or guardian. The recommendation<br />
forms are included at the end <strong>of</strong> this document (PDF).<br />
6. <strong>PSEO</strong> MINNESOTA STATE FORM<br />
Download and complete the State form with your guidance counselor. Be sure that it<br />
is signed by you, a parent or guardian, and your high school guidance counselor.<br />
