OF CREATION

Throughout the Season of Creation 1 September –

4 October, parishioners, students and clergy from

across the diocese reflected on the beauty and

wonder of the creation in our local environment.

We prayed, painted, wrote, sung,

captured and reflected on what

creation means to us, on our

favourite places and praised our God

and Creator.

Together, we created a community

reflection video where we prayed

together St Francis of Assisi’s

Canticle of Creation, which inspired

the title of Pope Francis’ encyclical,

Laudato Si – Praised be to You.

There were also submissions which couldn’t be included in the video reflection,

but wonderfully represented God’s creation and the call of the moment.

GOD’S MASTERPIECE, BY RENEE INGRAM

This poem highlights the beauty that is around us as an expression of

God’s love for us. It calls for us to honour that love and God’s masterpiece.

HEAL OUR HOME BY EMILY NASSO & NASSO COMO

This song by students from St Madeliene’s Kenthurst is a rallying cry for

each and every person to take what God has given us and heal our home

by being true custodians and stewards of God’s creation.

LET IT BE FREE, CHANEL DRAIBY

This powerful ballad, mirrors the cry of the earth which is currently in pain due to

pollution, greed and abandonment. A beautiful and powerful reflection, this piece

moves us to action.

SEASON OF CREATION, ST THOMAS AQUINAS PRIMARY SCHOOL, SPRINGWOOD

This video project featuring students of all ages demonstrates the philosophy of St
