About
Located in the unspolit countryside of South Northamptonshire, midway
between Banbury, Brackley and Towcester lies Foxhill Farm. This
professional family run business is owned and run by Lesley Smith who
with her team, boast years of experience in the equestrian and events
world.
Whether you are starting out on your riding career or looking to take the
next step as a rider; Lesley and her team specialise in ensuring that you
and your horse receive the very best experience.
Foxhill offers many forms of training, ranging from private lessons through
to day and residential clinics for individuals and riding clubs. With a full
range of XC, SJ and Dressage facilities on-site and a packed events
calendar, Foxhill is guaranteed to keep you and your horse busy all year
round.
A relaxing stay, tailored to your every need
Short Breaks
A concept Foxhill has pioneered and become synonymous with is the
equestrian mini-break. With pony clubs, riding clubs, groups of friends and
individuals coming from all over the UK to enjoy a quick getaway with their
horse.
Every stay is tailored to people’s needs with a focus on relaxing and
enjoying time with your horse in all areas including dressage, show
jumping, cross country and hacking whatever your ability.
Unique to Foxhill is the combination of equestrian facilities, miles of
off-road hacking, farmhouse accommodation and dedicated stabling all
on the farm, meaning there is no need to travel during your stay.
Riding isn’t the only thing that you can do at Foxhill, their links with many
other local companies mean that you can also enjoy wine tasting, clay
pigeon shooting or even cooking classes during your stay! All of which
come to the farm.
Whilst every stay has its own twist, a typical weekend comprises of
everyone arriving on Friday evening where dinner is served in the
farmhouse. On Saturday and Sunday breakfast and lunch is served
alongside tuition in the morning and afternoon. The format of the day for
riding is always highly flexible with Lesley and her team often taking
multiple groups focusing on various disciplines throughout the day, even
if it is just going for a hack and a chat. Dinner on Saturday can be in the
farmhouse or at the local pub depending on group preferences.
Location
Foxhill is located in an ideal location, close to many National Trust sites,
the Silverstone Circuit, Towcester Racecourse and numerous wedding
venues including Crockwell Farm, Whittlebury Hall, Fawsley Hall, Staverton
Park and Dodmoor House, just to name a few.
The team have plenty of experience catering for any special requirements
you have for your stay, including wedding preparation, hosting parties and
even providing a landing site for private helicopters!
Accommodation
On offer are 2 spacious Twin Rooms and 1 Large Double Bedroom/Family
room all with en suite bathrooms. All the rooms are fitted to a high standard
and include television, radio, tea and coffee making facilities plus free wifi.
Foxhill boasts a 25 stable yard all contained within a purpose built American
Barn. All stables have rubber matting, automatic drinkers and access to
Foxhill's secure tack room.
Lesley, comments “People of all ages are living such busy lives now that
they rarely get time to truly get away for a few days, particularly with their
horse. Our focus is on making people feel as if they are friends staying for
the weekend whilst giving them access to all our fantastic facilities and
helpful tuition. We believe that we have a really special venue and
approach here and love seeing so many people come back year after year.”
