2 “Don’t hold on to the embers”
During unprecedented
times people tend to
hold-on to the embers of
what once was and long
to go back to the
normality that they had
before any particular
crisis, but let's put this
into perspective.
When it comes to Christianity, when it comes to proclaiming the
gospel, when it comes to doing the things that Jesus asked us to
do during the great commission, perhaps it is time to a re-assess,
to re-think and perhaps it is time to do things slightly differently.
You see what we have is tendency to drift, we drift away from our
original teaching. Take driving for instance, do you think people
drive like they did when they passed their test, no and why is that;
because they have drifted away from the original teaching and
obviously they know better than their instructor!
Over the past couple of weeks I've started to read a book by
Gavin and Anne Calver that talks about the unleashing of the Holy
Spirit and the effect that can have on individuals and communities;
in some respects the material isn’t new, in fact it’s around 2000
years old, but it’s refreshing to go back to the original plan that
God has for his people – so why not join us in November as we
work through this theme of being unleashed in the power of the
Holy Spirit.
The power and authority of the Name of Jesus rightfully belongs
to you as a born-again Christian, and He expects you to use it!
Before Jesus ascended to be seated at the right hand of the
Father, He said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been
given to me.” Matthew 28:18 NIV).
He has the authority!

Does the increase in poverty in the UK upset you? Are you keen
to help local people who are experiencing difficult times? Your
skills could be just what we need
We are looking for volunteers on Saturdays between 9:45 - 12:15
to distribute the food to our walk-in clients.
Over the past 6 months we have provided 100s of meals through
our FoodBank and wondered if you would like to get involved.
“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for
one of the least of these brothers and
sisters of mine, you did for me.”
