YOUTH FOR EUROPE PROGRAMME
Description
Tremplins is an non-profit making association started in 1989. Its aim is to develop a policy for bringing young people from
different cultural and ethnic backgrounds together and assist their integration through practical training periods, general training
and European exchanges.
A group of 10 young people aged between 18 and 20 from Brussels in search of their own identity and professional experiences
will create a portrait of Brussels in sound. Capturing the town's sounds should increase the general public's awareness of the
multicultural nature of the different neighbourhoods in the metropolis. The project objectives are to allow the young participants to
grasp how Brussels is impregnated by a deep mix of cultures and provide them with the necessary means for setting the ground for
discussions and intercultural understanding through artistic media.
The product created will be played on the airwaves of local radio stations in the French community during the Brussels Babel 2000
festival, and during the festival for creation in the field of radio and via a European network that the association is involved in.
themselves through hip-hop music.
The group wants to arrange writing workshops for ten young people in order to help them co-produce a rap CD in French. The
