Description<br />

The applicant is an independent German association that works with multicultural youth groups in Frankfurt ( D ) and which<br />

organises exchanges and programmes for the constructive use of young peoples' leisure time. Also, they run a sculpture workshop<br />

for delinquent youths. The program is a youth exchange that brings socio-economically disadvantaged youths ( 8D, 8LT, 8EE, 8I )<br />

together in Frankfurt am Main ( D ) where they will take part in an artistically inspired programme that aims to create cross-border<br />

contacts, enhance artistic expression and create the desire to learn foreign languages. The organisers see this as one project in an<br />

ongoing series.<br />

Description<br />

The organiser is a German non-governmental organisation with international scope. They are active in youth exchanges between<br />

Germany and Turkey; they organise public discussion events with themes focusing on society and politics; and they organise expert<br />

programmes and publish a youth magazine. The programme initially brings participants ( 5D, 5GR, 5TR, 5BH, 5BG ) to<br />

Königswinter (D) for three days where discussions will be held on ''The Balkan countries and their integration in Europe'' and on<br />

the ethnic minorities in the Balkan region. Then, participants will go to Bonn (D) where visits of national government institutions<br />

and discussions with politicians are scheduled. Finally, the project will move on to Brussels (B) where many international<br />

associations will be visited and more discussions with authorities are planned.<br />

The project is a feasibility visit of 24 youth workers from six different countries (D, UK, FIN, EE, LV, LT) with the aim of getting<br />

to know each other and the youth work provision in each country in order to facilitate the future youth exchange cooperation. The<br />

activity will take place in Gahlen (D) and is organised by a local church-based organisation. The project follows on from earlier<br />

bilateral cooperation which the partners are keen to widen to include the Baltic States.<br />
