You must therefore always select the appropriate switching element

In the connection of electrosensitive protective equipment
(ESPE), sender and receiver can be considered as a system’s
input and output.
Control switch with indicator display on the field-signal connection
The indicator display (Out A) is being controlled via the internal
logic of the UE44X7 or via an external safety rated programmable
logic controller.
Muting lamp on the field-signal connection
It is only permitted to connect a muting lamp to test output 1A,
as only this output has current monitoring capability.

You can use output Out B to test the sender in a safety light curtain.
The safety outputs (output signal switching devices [OSSDs])
