Emerging as a Leader
Through Innovation
Showcasing Our Impact
and Evaluation
Over the last few years, NAUDL has worked to
thoughtfully elevate its relationships with our
league partners while leveraging new platforms
to provide strategic direction and critical counsel.
The most novel and comprehensive outcome of this pursuit was the launch of the Teach
Debate online curriculum (housed at www.urbandebate.org). Designed to meet leagues and
coaches “where they are” to reach success, this instructional site delivers:
22
Leagues
702
Schools
• A novice policy debate curriculum with lesson plans aligned with college and career
readiness standards
• Best practice materials and guidelines for leading high-performing leagues and coaches
• Fully searchable, curated extension lesson plans and toolkits (organized by primary skill)
• Introductory learning modules for novice debaters and coaches
• Access to Common Core files for the respective season
• An interactive “community” platform for teachers and coaches to share and inquire about
activities and practices
In its first full year, Teach Debate was utilized by members of all 22 leagues. We are excited
by the initial success of this site and expect that Teach Debate will continue to be a “go-to
resource” for our network.

Not so long ago, NAUDL’s relationship with data
was static, at best.
Today, we have a data-forward approach, with dynamic analysis and concrete collection
methods to serve as building blocks for tracking outcomes, developing new partnerships
and programs, identifying gaps in service, and determining sophisticated opportunity
mapping. Additionally, all leagues now have access to performance dashboards on
league activity, attendance, and participation levels in real time. In collaborating with our
leagues on data and evaluation, NAUDL is able to confidently report on our own strategic
goals and mission alignment, while working to recognize areas of improvement and,
more, to celebrate milestones of success with our partner leagues.
