Checking the engine oil level (fig. 57)<br />

The engine oil level can be checked through the sight<br />

glass (1) provided on the clutch cover.<br />

Check the oil level with the motorcycle upright and the<br />

engine cold. Allow a few minutes for the oil level to<br />

stabilize after stopping the engine. The oil level should be<br />

b<strong>et</strong>ween the two marks next to the sight glass.<br />

If the level is low, top up with SHELL Advance Ultra 4<br />

engine oil.<br />

Remove the oil filler cap (2) and top up until the oil reaches<br />

the required level. Replace the filler cap.<br />

Important<br />

To change the engine oil and oil filters at the intervals<br />

specified in the routine maintenance schedule (see Warranty<br />

Card), contact your Ducati Dealer or Authorized Workshop.<br />

Oil viscosity<br />

SAE 15W-50<br />

The other viscosity values shown in the table can be used if<br />

the local average temperature is within the limits specified<br />

for that oil viscosity.<br />
