Photographer Baz Seal launches Clique, a personal branding service for the modern and
discerning businesswoman
COVID has changed many aspects of our lives and behaviour,
not least it has made many people re-examine their working
life and consider taking the leap to start a business venture,
or to look at ways of reshaping their project to expand their
offering and increase their market share.
Personal branding is a huge facet of this too - as consumers, our
buying habits have changed dramatically in these six months,
making us more likely to spend our money with independent
businesses and wanting to know more about the person at
the helm of them. Buying from people, rather than faceless
organisations.
International photographer Baz Seal knows the importance
of this all too well - he has seen first hand how a portfolio of
engaging lifestyle images have elevated the businesses of an
array of clients across different fields. We caught up with him to
discuss his latest venture, Clique.
Can you tell us a little more about yourself and why you
decided to launch Clique?
As a photographer, my work has covered Red Carpet/
Celebrity(BAFTA) and Fashion (Fashion Week) and over the past
few years I have been privileged to be invited to cover Women in
Business events. This led me wanting to create something special
and unique - specifically aimed at female entrepreneurs. Head
shots are one thing, but they don’t tell the full story of the brand
and they won’t achieve that all-important engagement across
social media and in print. I wanted to provide my clients with a
media-ready selection of images that made them feel empowered
and showed potential customers their authentic self.
Personal branding is incredibly important – how do you
empower clients to tell the story of their business through
photography?
Personal Branding is what people say about you when you
are not in the room. Personal Branding Photography is a
very powerful business tool and will provide you with a
library of images that can help elevate you and your brand.
Social Media dominates all aspects of our personal and
business lives today. How you are immediately perceived is
vital to telling your story.
What is the ‘Clique’ experience?
It starts with an initial chat - or consultation. This can be via
Zoom, telephone call or over a coffee. We discuss ‘you’ - your
goals etc.. We then get into wardrobe and location options,
somewhere with meaning to your businesses - I travel
internationally for clients too. We can even look at seasonal
shoots so you have images to use throughout the year.
The actual shoot is the fun part! I am very aware of the
trepidation surrounding personal photography but once we
get shooting, its a blast! I can coax even the most camera-shy
into having fun and relaxing into the process - and dare I say,
enjoying it!
Do clients have access to a range of shots to use for their
own branding?
Yes. Subject to the package they choose, they will have a media
ready range of professional images at their disposal.
Have clients found an uplift in their business from using your
service?
Most definitely! You will see from the testimonials on my website
that the images we create together are having a great impact. For
