This rail escape to Santa Barbara begins aboard<br />
our deluxe motorcoach as we travel from our departure<br />
points to downtown Los Angeles’ historic<br />
Union Station where we’ll board Amtrak’s Coast<br />
Starlight train. Enjoy a relaxing, 3-hour train<br />
ride in your reclining seat or check out the view<br />
from the observation car featuring windows that<br />
stretch up to the ceiling offering unparalleled and<br />
expansive views. Once we pass Oxnard we’ll travel<br />
along California’s spectacular coastline with<br />
unrivaled views of the Pacific Ocean and Channel<br />
Islands. We’ll enjoy an included boxed lunch<br />
onboard along with a snack bar selling snacks<br />
and drinks. This afternoon we’ll arrive in the sunkissed<br />
coastal paradise known as The American<br />
Riviera. We’ll reboard our motorcoach and travel<br />
the short distance to Santa Barbara City College<br />
to experience the annual Santa Barbara Lavender<br />
Festival held at the campus’ Great Meadow.<br />
Enjoy time at leisure soaking up the soothing<br />
aroma of lavender, live music and ocean views at<br />
this festival that celebrates lavender and lavender<br />
themes with local artisans, lavender farmers and<br />
vendors in attendance. The knowledgeable growers<br />
provide talks on growing lavender while vendors<br />
sell lavender plants, fresh lavender bouquets<br />
and a variety of lavender products. We’ll top off<br />
this memorable day with an included ice cream<br />
treat from a locals’ favorite before we motorcoach<br />
home. Each guest should bring a driver’s license or<br />
other government-issued photo identification to<br />
show Amtrak on the day of the tour if requested.<br />
While a rare occurrence, should the Coast Starlight<br />
train be severely delayed or canceled by Amtrak,<br />
an Amtrak Surfliner train will be substituted, or<br />

sky above the legendary Hollywood Bowl! This<br />
memorable evening under the stars will feature a<br />
thrilling headliner performance, patriotic music<br />
and a thrilling fireworks finale! The Los Angeles<br />
Philharmonic will perform a program of patriotic<br />
favorites such as John Philip Sousa’s rousing<br />
marches, followed by a set by this year’s headliner,<br />
Harry Connick Jr. and his band! This versatile and<br />
multi-faceted entertainer who acts, composes and<br />
sings has sold over 30 million albums and achieved<br />

King Cole, Harry’s swinging piano skills and velvety<br />

of John Williams, the master of cinematic<br />

recognizable soundtracks of our time. John Williams<br />
will join the Los Angeles Philharmonic for<br />
a memorable night under the stars at the legendary<br />
Hollywood Bowl for an awe-inspiring concert<br />
featuring some of his biggest movie hits, including<br />
selections performed with film clips on<br />
the big screen. You know a John Williams score<br />
the moment you hear it – and if you’re a fan of<br />
blockbusters, you’ve heard quite a few. Jaws, Star<br />
Wars, ET, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, Superman<br />
– he scored them all and so many more! The concert<br />
will also feature composer David Newman<br />
