Promenade is a pedestrian mall where multiple
blocks of State Street are closed to vehicle traffic
allowing restaurants and other businesses to
expand onto sidewalks and into Santa Barbara’s

vitality. Paseo Nuevo is Santa Barbara’s Mediterranean-style,
outdoor shopping center that features

like Stearns Wharf, Butterfly Beach, the beautiful
Mission Santa Barbara, and the elegant County
Courthouse, just to name a few!
Optional Santa Barbara Zoo
Or take advantage of an optional visit to the
Santa Barbara Zoo this afternoon. This 30-acre
zoo with a view was once a posh estate owned
by a coffee and tea merchant and is now the lush
domain of over 500 animals exhibited in open,
naturalistic habitats. Some of the most popular
exhibits include The Australian Walkabout featuring
koalas, kangaroos, emus and wallabies in a
walkable habitat, The Forest’s Edge housing two
male Western lowland gorillas, and the Humboldt
Penguin colony with penguins from the
coast of South America that like it “Chile,” not

This memorable experience at the state-of-the-art
Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum
begins with a delicious barbecue-style buffet lunch
including hand-carved tri-tip, barbecue chicken,
garlic mashed potatoes, creamy cole slaw, barbecue
baked beans, house-baked cheddar corn muffins
and chocolate fudge brownies beneath the
wing of Air Force One. A docent-guided tour will
highlight artifacts within the museum’s 18 galleries
that pay tribute to America’s 40th president.
Visit a full-scale replica of Reagan’s Oval Office,
see a piece of the Berlin Wall, explore interactive
exhibits, read letters written by President Reagan
to Nancy, pay your respects at their final resting
place and admire spectacular views of the Conejo
Valley. The Air Force One Pavilion features a
presidential limousine, a secret service vehicle, a
Marine One helicopter, the world’s first operational
stealth aircraft, the F-117 Nighthawk, and
a walk-through of the Air Force One airplane
that served seven U.S. Presidents. On view for
a limited time is the new exhibition, Star Wars
and SDI: Defending America and the Galaxy. This
fun and informative exhibition features both the
real-world technology of SDI (President Reagan’s
Strategic Defense Initiative), as well as items from
the movie phenomenon. See original items from
SDI including an authentic Command Launch
Equipment Console as well as props, costumes
and concept art from the Star Wars franchise,
including a Landspeeder, Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber
and an original script signed by David Prose
(the actor who portrayed Darth Vader). Price:
