John K. Grumbein - First Ceremonial Master
Grumbein, the only child of George and LaVerne (Hunsicker) Grumbein, is a 1971 graduate
of William Allen H.S., Allentown and is a certified ASE Master Technician, having worked in the
family truck leasing/garage business for 18 years before starting a 26-year career with FedEx,
retiring in 2016.
Grumbein is a member of Greenleaf Lodge No. 561 in Allentown, PA. He became a member
in 1975, the same year he became a member of Lehigh Consistory, A.A.S.R., Valley of Allentown,
PA and Rajah Shrine in Reading, PA.
Following in the footsteps of his father, George, he immediately joined the Oriental Band and
has served as President in 1981, 2012 and 2013. He also has served as Secretary of the Oriental
Band for many years.
Grumbein was appointed Musical Director in 1984 and continues to hold that position.
John has led the Oriental Band to many championships, both in Mid-Atlantic Shrine Oriental Band Association and Shrine
Imperial competitions all over North America.
He served as President of Mid-Atlantic Shrine Oriental Band Association in 2006 & 2007 and currently serves as Secretary/
Treasurer of the Association.
In Rajah, John is also a member of the Lehigh Shrine Club, the Anglers, Car Club and Hillbillies Clan #9. John has performed
as a drummer in various dance bands in the Lehigh Valley.
Grumbein is a member of Apato Teocalli #63 Order of Quetzalcoatl, served as Camaxtli (President) in 2015 and currently
Tlacuilo (Secretary).
He married Sharon Acker on March 1, 1975. The couple have two children: Wayne (wife Julie) and Wendy (husband Brad
Decker). Four grandchildren: Jarrett Maddox, Jayden Grumbein, Olivia Decker, and Alexander Decker.

Gregory T. Miller - Second Ceremonial Master
Miller is the son of Marvin J. and Marie Miller, of Slatington. Greg was the Chief Aide in
2020, having served under his father Illustrious Sir Marvin J. Miller, the immediate Past Potentate
of Rajah Shrine.
Greg is a member of Slatington Lodge #440 F. & A. M., Slatington, PA, having served as
Worshipful Master in 2010 and Lehigh Consistory, Valley of Allentown, A.A.S.R. since 2002. As
a member of Rajah Shrine, Greg is a member of the Angler’s Club, Past Master’s Club, Hillbillies
Clan #9 and Apato Teocalli #63, Order of Quetzalcoatl.
After a 20-year career in construction, Miller is currently the Corporate Production Manager
of Mellon Certified Restorations, a position he has held since 2009. He and his wife Sharon have
been married for over 40 years and have a daughter Ashley.
