LENT <strong>2021</strong><br />

Ash Wednesday<br />

Pick up Your Ashes<br />

Ashes will available to pick<br />

up at church for the week prior<br />

to Ash Wednesday. These<br />

can be used as part of your<br />

worship with <strong>Creator</strong> at home<br />

at 7pm or when you view the<br />

worship. If you would like ashes<br />

to be delivered to your home<br />

please let the office know<br />

prior to <strong>February</strong> 12th so that<br />

arrangements can be made.<br />

You will be invited to impose<br />

ashes on your own forehead<br />

and/or on the foreheads of<br />

people in your household.<br />

Drive by Ashes<br />

• 12:30pm-2pm<br />

• 5:30pm -6:30pm<br />

Drive By Church on <strong>February</strong><br />

17th for imposition of ashes<br />

by Pastor Amanda. Pastor will<br />

have a mask and face shield.<br />

Ashes will be applied with a<br />

single use q-tip.<br />

Ash Wednesday Worship with<br />

Holy Communion<br />

Worship will be at 7pm on<br />

<strong>February</strong> 17th. You are invited<br />

to register to come in person or<br />

worship digitally on Facebook,<br />

Zoom or YouTube.<br />

For those who come in<br />

person, you will be invited to<br />

come to the altar for imposition<br />

of ashes by COVID Family.<br />

Ashes will be imposed with<br />

a single use q-tip by Pastor<br />

Amanda, who will be masked<br />

and use a face shield.<br />

Wednesdays In Lent<br />

7 Symbols of Ash<br />

We will be considering<br />

the different meanings of Ash<br />

throughout Lent in <strong>2021</strong>. Each<br />

Wednesday one of these<br />

meanings will be the focus<br />

of the Wednesday evening<br />

sermon. Throughout the day<br />

you are invited to come to<br />

schedule time to come into<br />

the sanctuary to pray and<br />

two walk through prayer<br />

stations designed to reflect<br />

on Loss, Mortality, Emptiness,<br />

Weakness, Repentance,<br />

Shame, Purity.<br />

Prayer Stations<br />

Register for a time to go<br />

through the 7 Symbols of<br />

Ash Stations one time (or<br />

more) during Lent. You and<br />

your COVID family will be the<br />

only people in the sanctuary<br />

at the time and other COVID<br />

protocols will be in place as<br />

well. Registration will open in<br />

<strong>February</strong>.<br />

Times will be available 9am-<br />

7pm on Wednesdays in Lent.<br />

Worship<br />

Worship with Holden<br />

Evening Prayer and a sermon<br />

will be premiered at 7pm each<br />

Wednesday on Facebook and<br />

YouTube.<br />

Holy Week in a Box<br />

Boxes are being prepared<br />

so that your household can<br />

have worship and devotional<br />

materials for Holy Week. The<br />

boxes with contain objects<br />

that help us reflect on Jesus’<br />

passion and resurrection for us.<br />

You will be receiving information<br />

about when they are available<br />

for pick-up at the church or to<br />

request that a box is dropped off<br />

at your home.<br />

Adult Bible<br />

Study via<br />

Zoom<br />

Join us on the second and fourth<br />

Monday of each month for fellowship<br />

and faith discussions. We are currently<br />

studying “whatever strikes our fancy”<br />

(direct quote from Andy Heckroth).<br />

Most of our Bible studies come from the<br />

ELCA resources.<br />
