POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS – DO THEY WORK?

Think about the child who is constantly scolded

and told that they are useless. The child will start

to believe these words are true and may start to

say things like “I’m never good enough” or “Why

can’t I do anything right?”. Eventually this will

lead them to adopting behaviours that are

consistent to this belief, and they may not be

motivated to try hard in anything they do, as they

to thinking patterns, or even to our lives. If you
