RLWC<strong>2021</strong>, the team running the Rugby League World<br />

Cup, are looking for volunteers to help them deliver a<br />

successful tournament later this year.<br />

The Power Squad will be made up of 2,000 volunteers<br />

who will be welcoming the world to England when the<br />

16th edition of this historic global event kicks off in the<br />

autumn at 21 venues across 18 host towns.<br />

The Power Squad will play a key role in the delivery of<br />

the six-week tournament with a range of roles, including<br />

transport, spectator services, accreditation, way-finding,<br />

media, content and broadcast support.<br />

Recruitment is open now through an online application<br />

process and will conclude on 23 <strong>Apr</strong>il <strong>2021</strong>. The<br />

programme features a dedicated interview process<br />

followed by comprehensive training for successful<br />

candidates.<br />

Candidates must be available for a minimum of three<br />

shifts across the tournament and available to attend<br />

training sessions in the summer as well as being 18 or<br />

above by the 1September <strong>2021</strong>.<br />

Free Parking<br />

Saints fans will be able to park for free on the majority of<br />

town centre car parks when fans return to the stadium.<br />

<strong>St</strong> <strong>Helens</strong> Borough Council has been in consultation with<br />

<strong>St</strong> <strong>Helens</strong> R.F.C. to find new parking options with the<br />

demolition of Chalon Way Car Park, which had been a<br />

match day parking facility for fans.<br />

Now fans will be able to use all open-air car parks across<br />

the town centre for free when they can finally return to<br />

the stadium.<br />

All car parks and on street parking bays except Tontine<br />

and <strong>St</strong> <strong>Mar</strong>y’s Multi-<strong>St</strong>orey Car Parks will be open for<br />

match day parking for free. More information on the free<br />

parking plans will follow once restrictions are eased later<br />

this year.<br />
