- ‘Speaking in/with tongues,’

They all mean the same.
‘WWSIT’ stands for ‘when we speak in
tongues.’

SPEAKING IN
TONGUES IS A POTENT
TRANSFORMATION
TOOL.
BECAUSE it a supernatural activity.
WWSIT, the Holy Spirit helps us pray
in a supernatural language that we don’t
understand.
But this language is potent.
Because it is Holy Spirit-directed prayer.
WWSIT, we are praying perfect
prayers—according to the will of God.
Not according to our will—but His will.
Every syllable in this supernatural
language means something.
So speaking in tongues is a potent
transformation tool.
Paul understood this so clearly. Of all the
apostles, he had the greatest revelation on
this point.

MORE THAN YOU ALL.
PAUL was thankful that he spoke in
tongues a lot.
More than anybody else.
He says to the church in Corinth,
[1 Corinthians 14:18]
I THANK MY GOD, I SPEAK IN
TONGUES more than you all ...
By the grace of God, Paul must have
developed a healthy habit of speaking in
tongues.
Speaking in tongues must have become as
natural to him as breathing.
It must have been his usual way of life.
Whenever he could, he would have been
speaking in tongues.
Day and night.
I am certain.

Because Paul understood how beneficial
speaking in tongues really is.
We will only really do something if we
understand why it benefits us.
That’s why Paul shares with us much
revelation knowledge on the benefit of
speaking in tongues.
So that we can also get to understand how
beneficial speaking in tongues is.
So that we will get to appreciate it.
So that we will also step-by-step develop
a habit of speaking in tongues.
Like Paul.
That’s when we will get the full benefit of
it.
Yet, developing any habit is a process.
Here’s my personal journey with the
wonderful gift of the Holy Spirit, who
gives us the ability to speak in tongues.

I HEARD JESUS SPEAK
TO ME AUDIBLY.
I HAD the privilege to come to the Lord
just like we read in Acts 2:38.
As a young man of 19 years of age, I
was passing through the desert of South
Australia.
By divine appointment, I then met
someone in the remote opal-mining town
of Coober Pedy who preached the gospel
to me.
When I believed, I then got baptized.
And when I got baptized, I received the
Holy Spirit and began to speak in tongues.
On the night before I got baptized, I had
an encounter with Jesus in my dream.
He spoke to me in an audible voice.
On the night after I got baptized, I had my
first encounter with the glory realm as I
was alone in my room.
So, I may be biased when it comes to
water baptism, the Holy Spirit, and
speaking in tongues.

But I think rightly so.
I like to simply believe that receiving the
Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues is for
all today.
Just as we read about it in Acts.

A BURNING TOPIC.
I DESIRE to help all believers receive the
Holy Spirit and speak in tongues.
This topic has been burning in my heart
for so many years.
And I’ve had the privilege to be able to
help hundreds of believers in this area.
Most of them all have had difficulties of
some kind at first.
I have recently written a few books to
share my insights and experience on this
topic.
In 2017, I was at the Harvest School in
Pemba, Mozambique, where I received
a touching and accurate prophecy
from David Wagner from Father Heart
Ministries.
This inspired me to write the book ‘Holy
Spirit Accountant.’

The book ‘A Flame for Every Head’ is
based on Reinhard Bonnke’s famous
quote, “If you have a head, God has a
flame for you.”
In this book, I am laying a scriptural
foundation for receiving the Holy Spirit.
In the book ‘Do All Speak in Tongues?
Yes and No’ I am exploring a question that
believers often find difficult to answer.
But needlessly so.
It’s important to understand that there are
different types of speaking in tongues.
There is the accompanying sign of
tongues, according to Jesus in Mark. And
there is the gift of tongues, according to
Paul in 1 Corinthians.
The sign of tongues is for all believers.
The gift of tongues is given as the Spirit
wills. It is not for all.
In my book, ‘Do All Speak in Tongues?
Yes and No’ I deal with those 2 different
kinds of tongues in more detail.
In this current book, ‘Speaking
in Tongues: The Gateway to the
Supernatural,’ I only deal with the sign
of speaking in tongues.
The kind of speaking in tongues that is for
all believers.

1 WE NEED TO LEARN
TO WALK IN THE
SPIRIT.
SO WE HAVE come to Christ.
We have become a partaker of His divine
nature.
We have received a makeover in our
Spirit.
By the operation of God, our human
Spirit has fused with God’s Spirit.
The Holy Spirit now resides in us.
Yet, our life is still soulish.
Even though we have already received
the Holy Spirit.
And—as new believers—we have not yet
learned to live a life that is ruled by the
Holy Spirit.
In our old life, we relied on our soul to
get us through this life.
The soulish realm.
Now—as new believers—we need to

learn to live a life that is ruled by the
Holy Spirit.
The bible calls this ‘walking in the Spirit.’
So this is the problem.
We cannot just know how to walk in the
Spirit from the moment we are spiritually
born again.
We need to learn it.
And we carry with us a soul (that is a part
of our make-up) that is unregenerated.
That is, all the old thought patterns are
still there.
We need transformation.
God, in His extraordinary wisdom and
foresight, knows this.
That is why he has given us a super potent
transformation tool.
Praying in tongues.
The bible also calls it ‘praying in the
Spirit.’
We have no hope to learn how to walk in
the Spirit if we don’t learn how to use this
powerful transformation tool.
But if we learn how to develop a habit of
praying in tongues, we can then step-bystep
to move out of a life ruled by our soul

to a life led by the Holy Spirit.

2 A TRANSITION.
WE CAN LEARN from Paul, the apostle.
He is a great example.
He learned to transition from a lie
dominated by human striving and self-will
to a life dominated by the Spirit of God.
A life full of power and peace.
How do I know this?
Look at Paul right after he had come to
the Lord and had a compelling conversion
experience.
First, he had an exclusive encounter with
Jesus on the road to Damascus.
Then he experienced miraculous healing
of his eyes (that had been blinded by the
brightness of the glory of Christ) through
Ananias.
Ananias then also baptized Paul instantly,
and Paul immediately also received the
Holy Spirit.
But did this instantly transform Paul?
Did it instantly transform him from a man
used to striving in his own strength to a

man of God led by the Holy Spirit?
No.
Paul instantly started preaching about
the Christ he had just so powerfully
encountered.
Yet Paul’s preaching stirred up a lot of
strive in the whole region.
By then, Paul only knew how to dispute
with people who believed otherwise.
So, eventually, he had to be sent away.
Home to Tarsus.
Then the churches had peace in the area.
After that, Paul began his learning at the
school of the Holy Spirit.
And in the process, he was transformed.
From a man led by the soul to a man led
by the Spirit.
He learned to operate in the Spirit.
So by the time he went on mission trips all
around the region, he had learned preach,
[1 Corinthians 1:4]
Not with persuasive words of human
wisdom, but IN DEMONSTRATION
OF THE SPIRIT AND OF POWER...
Later he could say,

[2 Corinthians 1:12]
We conducted ourselves in the world in
simplicity and godly sincerity, not with
fleshly wisdom but by the grace of God
...
He could also say,
[2 Corinthians 10:3-5]
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we
do not war according to the flesh.
4 For the weapons of our warfare are
not carnal but mighty in God for pulling
down strongholds,
5 casting down arguments and every
high thing that exalts itself against
the knowledge of God, bringing every
thought into captivity to the obedience
of Christ ...
This shows that Paul had gained an
understanding of the spiritual realm and
the operations of the Holy Spirit.
So he could say,
[Ephesians 6:12-18]
12 For we do not wrestle against flesh
and blood, but against principalities,
against powers, against the rulers of
the darkness of this age, against

spiritual hosts of wickedness in the
heavenly places.
13 Therefore take up the whole armor
of God, that you may be able to
withstand in the evil day, and having
done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having girded your
waist with truth, having put on the
breastplate of righteousness,
15 and having shod your feet with the
preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 above all, taking the shield of faith
with which you will be able to quench
all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
17 And take the helmet of salvation,
and the sword of the Spirit, which is
the word of God;
18 PRAYING ALWAYS WITH ALL
PRAYER AND SUPPLICATION IN THE
SPIRIT, being watchful to this end with
all perseverance and supplication for
all the saints...
So, Paul instructs the Ephesians to be
[Ephesians 6:18]

This is what this book is about.

Praying in the Spirit.
It’s an indispensable tool for our spiritual
growth.
Without it, we will not be able to progress
in our walk in the Spirit.
But, if we can develop a habit of praying
in the Spirit, we will experience the Holy
Spirit’s operations in our lives.
We will experience Him working in us
and in our circumstances.
It is a supernatural work.
Just as praying in the Spirit is a
supernatural activity.
It connects us to the supernatural realm.
The spirit realm.

3 GOD NEEDS TO
TEACH US TO TAKE THE
ROUTE OF THE SPIRIT.
WE ARE living in a visible world that is
governed by unseen realities.
Spiritual forces.
To become effective in our walk in the
Lord, He needs to transform us.
So that we can operate in the spiritual
realm.
To live from heaven to earth.
For this, God has given us a helper—the
Holy Spirit.
The Spirit of God.
For us to become usable, the Holy Spirit
needs to do a work in us.
Transform us.
Change the way we view reality.
Change the way we operate.
He needs to teach us to take the route of

the Spirit.
The supernatural realm.
Not the natural realm.
When we pray with tongues, we give God
the authority to effect changes in us and
the circumstances around us.
God operates in the supernatural
dimension.
So, when we yield ourselves to the
workings of the Spirit—by praying with
tongues—we are going to experience
supernatural things that start to happen in
our lives.
We will meet people supernaturally.
We will be in the right place at the right
time.
We will learn to say ‘no’ to things that
originate in the natural realm.
And we will learn to say ‘yes’ to things
that originate in the supernatural realm.
This is the way of God.
The supernatural realm.
The glory realm.

The realm of eternity

In that realm, in the glory realm, there are
no limitations.
And speaking with tongues will line us up
with the operations of the Holy Spirit.

mysteries.
In our lives, we are dealing much with
people.
We talk to them, and they talk to us.
But when we speak in tongues (WWSIT),
we don’t speak to people.
We speak to God.
We acknowledge our need for Him.
We give our attention to Him.
This is very powerful.

PRIMING OURSELF IN
THE SPIRIT REALM.

For HE WHO SPEAKS IN A TONGUE
does not speak to men but to God, for

THE SPIRIT HE SPEAKS mysteries.
WWSIT, we speak ‘in the spirit.’
It is not a flesh operation.
It’s a spirit operation.
It is a supernatural activity.
So WWSIT, we are priming ourselves in
the spirit realm.
There is a natural realm.
And there is a supernatural realm.
The spirit realm.

MORE ATTUNED TO THE
HOLY SPIRIT.

For he who speaks in a tongue does not
speak to men but to God, for NO ONE
UNDERSTANDS HIM; HOWEVER, IN
THE SPIRIT HE SPEAKS MYSTERIES.
WHY?
Because when we speak in tongues, we
are placing ourselves in the Spirit.
It is a supernatural activity that
circumvents our mind.
Because WWSIT, our mind is not
involved.
WWSIT, we don’t understand anything.
So WWSIT, we are placing ourselves in
the Spirit by an act of our will.

We are the ones speaking.
But it is the Holy Spirit that supplies the
utterance.
[Acts 2:3-4]
3 Then there appeared to them divided
tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon
each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy
Spirit and BEGAN TO SPEAK WITH
OTHER TONGUES, AS THE SPIRIT
GAVE THEM UTTERANCE.
So when we speak in tongues, we are
placing ourselves in the realm of Spirit.
As we keep doing this, our awareness of
this spiritual realm grows.
It’s like when you visit a place in the
natural realm.
The more often you visit that place, the
more familiar you become with it.
It is exactly the same in the spiritual
realm.
WWSIT, we place ourselves in the Spirit.
And the more we do it, the more we
become aware of what this spiritual realm
feels like.

And we increasingly begin to sense a
spiritual dimension.
This will help us to learn to operate in and
from that realm.
In short, we become more Spirit-sensitive.
We become more attuned to the Holy
Spirit.

TONGUES, OUR MIND
NEEDS TO STEP ASIDE
AND LET THE SPIRIT
TAKE OVER.
[1 Corinthians 14:2]
For he who speaks in a tongue does not
speak to men but to God, for NO ONE
UNDERSTANDS HIM; however, in the
spirit he speaks mysteries.
THIS IS one of the mysteries of speaking
in tongues.
We don’t understand the language.
Nobody can understand it.
Except for God.
So, God, in His exceeding wisdom, set it
up like this.
So, WWSIT, it circumvents our mind.
Our mind is left out.

Because it doesn’t understand.
Our mind is so used to running the show
of our life.
But WWSIT, our mind has to step aside
and let the spirit take over.

TONGUES, WE SPEAK
TO GOD WHAT IS
TROUBLING US IN OUR
HEART.
[Romans 8:26-27]
26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our
weaknesses. For we do not know what
we should pray for as we ought, but
the Spirit Himself makes intercession
for us with groanings which cannot be
uttered.
27 Now HE WHO SEARCHES THE
HEARTS KNOWS WHAT THE MIND
OF THE SPIRIT IS, because He makes
intercession for the saints according to
the will of God.
WWSIT, the Holy Spirit helps us to speak
to God what is troubling us in our hearts.
So the Holy Spirit is searching our hearts.

And when He finds things that are out of
alignment, He goes to work and helps us.
He prays perfect prayers through us that
are according to God’s will for us.
What can be better than that?

9 WHEN WE SPEAK IN
TONGUES, THE HOLY
SPIRIT PRAYS PERFECT
PRAYERS THROUGH US.
WE DON’T KNOW how we should pray.
Every day we are facing different
circumstances.
And our understanding is limited.
But when we pray in tongues, the Holy
Spirit helps us in our weaknesses.
He prays perfect prayers for us.
This is what Paul says in Romans 8.
[Romans 8:26-28]
26 Likewise THE SPIRIT ALSO
HELPS IN OUR WEAKNESSES.
FOR WE DO NOT KNOW WHAT
WE SHOULD PRAY FOR AS WE
OUGHT, BUT THE SPIRIT HIMSELF
MAKES INTERCESSION FOR US with
groanings which cannot be uttered.

27 Now He who searches the hearts
knows what the mind of the Spirit is,
because He makes intercession for the
saints according to the will of God.
28 And we know that all things work
together for good to those who love
God, to those who are the called
according to His purpose.
This means that whenever we are praying
in tongues, we are praying what is on our
heart.
And the Holy Spirit prays for us according
to God’s will.
He prays perfect prayers through us.
Custom-tailored prayers.
That perfectly fit our unique situation.
That perfectly fit our current spiritual
state.
This then helps us to automatically align
ourselves more and more with God’s will
for our lives.
In other words, this means that WWSIT,
we are praying the will of God into our
lives.
Not our will.
But His perfect will.

His perfect plans for us.
And then His directions for us will take a
form that we can follow.
Easily.
Because the Holy Spirit helps us.
We can’t do this in our natural ability.

10 WHEN WE SPEAK
IN TONGUES, WE
KEEP GROWING
IN REVELATION
KNOWLEDGE.
PAUL had more revelation knowledge on
New Creation realities than anyone else.
He wrote a quarter of the whole New
Testament.
He wrote extensively on what Christ has
done for us and who we are in Him.
But the point is: nobody taught Paul on
these issues.
He was taught by God. (John 6:45)
In 1 Corinthians, Paul gives us a clue
how he was taught.
It is a hint that speaking in tongues
is related to growing in revelation
knowledge.
Paul says,

For he who speaks in a tongue does
not speak to men but to God, for no
one understands him; however, IN THE
SPIRIT HE SPEAKS MYSTERIES.
The word ‘mystery’ means a hidden truth.
So as we are praying in tongues, we are
praying truths.
Divine mysteries.
Those mysteries include who Christ is in
us, to us, and through us.
The mystery of
[Colossians 1:27]
... Christ is us,the hope of glory...

ACTIVATES A PART OF
THE BRAIN THAT IS
NOT CONNECTED TO
SPEECH PRODUCTION.
Dr. NEWBERG from the University of
Pennsylvania did an interesting study.
He looked at which parts of the brain are
active when people speak in tongues.
He discovered something fascinating.
When people speak in tongues, parts
of the brain are active that do not have
anything to do with speech production.
This goes in line with 1 Corinthians 14
that says,
[1 Corinthians 14:2]
... he who speaks in a tongue does not
speak to men but to God, for no one

understands him; however, in the spirit
he speaks mysteries.
In the study, there were also other test
persons involved.
Buddhist monks.
They were chanting.
And Franciscan nuns.
They were saying regular prayers.
The brain scans showed that when they
were chanting or praying their brains were
very active.
The parts of the brain that is connected to
speech production.
Because chanting is not an easy task.
To chant well, monks have to memorize
what they are going to say.
The same goes for ordinary prayers.
But that is not the case WWSIT.
WWSIT, we speak as the Spirit gives us
utterance.
We don’t need to try hard to memorize
anything.
The Holy Spirit helps us to pray.
According to Acts 2:4:

And they were all filled with the Holy
Spirit and began to speak with other
tongues, AS THE SPIRIT GAVE THEM
UTTERANCE.
So WWSIT, it is unplanned.
Spontaneous.
Easy.
It is not strenuous.
It doesn’t involve our concentration.
It doesn’t involve our memory.
It is Holy Spirit-directed prayer.
The Holy Spirit helps us to pray.

SPIRITUAL WAR.
Our enemy is a maniac.
He is hell-bent on our destruction.
He is a master of deception.
He will use all he can to destroy us.
We should not underestimate him.
Paul understood this clearly.
Paul knew that in the natural, there is no
way we could ever overcome Satan.
Even though he is a defeated foe.
So Paul gives us a key in the letter to the
Ephesians.
Speaking in tongues.
Paul instructs the Ephesians and us:

the Lord and in the power of His might.

13 Therefore take up the whole armor

chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as
I ought to speak.
SO WWSIT, do we war against the devil?
No.
WWSIT, we do not speak to the devil.
WWSIT, we speak to God.
WWSIT, we are building ourselves up in a
place in God.
So that whatever the devil tries to throw at
us, he cannot succeed.
So that whatever the devil tries to throw
at us, we become so strong in God that we
can stand against him.

IN TONGUES, WE ARE
BUILDING OURSELVES
UP ON OUR HOLY
FAITH.
WWSIT, it does something to our faith.
It generates real faith.
Real faith is the God-kind of faith.
It is God’s faith.
It’s not our faith.
Jude instructs us:
[Jude 17-21]
17 You, beloved, remember the words
which were spoken before by the
apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ:
18 how they told you that there would
be mockers in the last time who would
walk according to their own ungodly
lusts.

19 These are sensual persons, who
cause divisions, not having the Spirit.
20 But you, beloved, BUILDING
YOURSELVES UP ON YOUR MOST
HOLY FAITH, PRAYING IN THE HOLY
SPIRIT,
21 keep yourselves in the love of God,
looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus
Christ unto eternal life
Take note: God’s faith is ‘most holy’ faith.
So WWSIT, we are building our faith
muscles.

14 WHEN WE PRAY IN
TONGUES, IT HELPS US
TO PUT TO DEATH THE
FLESH.
ONCE WE are born again and have
received the Holy Spirit, our spiritual
journey begins.
God has done incredible work in us
and has given us a brand-new operating
system.
But His work in us is not finished yet.
It has only begun.
So what is God doing in us?
He teaches us to walk in the Spirit.
That is to recognize the voice of the Holy
Spirit and follow His leading.
In the past, we were lead by our mind,
will, and emotions.
Our life was governed by the soulish
realm.
Yummy!

But once we are ‘in Christ,’ God wants to
teach us how to live by the Spirit.
We need to learn to live by the indwelling
life of Christ, as Frank Viola put it.
In this process, we need to learn new
things.
And, just as importantly, we need to
unlearn many things.
In the past, our life was governed by our
flesh (our human efforts).
Once we have come into Christ, we learn
step-by-step (little-by-little) to rely more
and more on the Holy Spirit’s leading and
less and less on human effort.
But this is a process.
Paul says,
[Romans 8:12-17]
12 Therefore, brethren, we are
debtors—not to the flesh, to live
according to the flesh.
13 For if you live according to the flesh
you will die; but if by the Spirit you put
to death the deeds of the body, you will
live.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit
of God, these are sons of God.

15 For you did not receive the Spirit of
bondage again to fear, but you received
the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry
out, “Abba,Father.”
16 The Spirit Himself bears witness
with our Spirit that we are children of
God,
17 and if children, then heirs—heirs
of God and joint heirs with Christ, if
indeed we suffer with Him, that we
may also be glorified together.
WWSIT, God begins to change us from
within.
He does a work within—first.
He transforms our soul.
As we keep praying in the Spirit, God
delivers us from old habits and tendencies
deeply ingrained in our soul.
He does deep work in our soul.
And by praying in the Spirit, we are
giving Him permission to do this work in
us.
We are giving Him our authority to work
in our soul.

15 PRAY ALONG
SOMEONE STRONG IN
THE SPIRIT.
IF YOU ARE new to praying in tongues,
you can first pray along someone strong in
the Spirit.
This will help you to develop a habit of
speaking in tongues.
Developing a habit is not easy.
But once you have developed it, it is also
not easy to fall out of that habit.
I personally like to pray along to Dave
Roberson’s recording on Youtube called
‘Tongues for Believers - Bonus Prayer
CD.’
It’s 1 hour and 19 minutes long.
It’s a great tool that will carry you along
in prayer.
And you will get addicted to praying in
tongues.
That’s the best thing that can happen!

The word ‘testimony’ means to do it again.
Jesus baptizes with the Holy Spirit and fire.
This is His hallmark.
By this, we know that we have to do it with
the real Jesus.
Anything other than that is counterfeit.
John, the Baptist, said,

Have you already received the wonderful
gift of the Holy Spirit since you became a
believer in Jesus Christ?
If not yet, find out how you can easily receive
Holy Spirit today—even if you have already tried
to receive many times before.
There can be only one of two reasons why
you haven’t received the Holy Spirit yet.
1) You may not yet clearly understand that there
is a Holy Spirit and why we can receive Him. You
may be in the same position as some disciples
from Ephesus in Acts 19. When Paul met them,
he asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit
when you believed?” They said to him, “We
haven’t heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.”
2) Or, you may be in the same position as some
believers from Samaria in Acts 8. They had
“believed” and “they were baptized.” But they
still hadn’t received the Holy Spirit at that point.
So then Peter and John came and “prayed for
them, that they might receive the Holy Spirit.”
Whichever position you are in—your time
to receive Holy Spirit has come!

From a strictly biblical perspective, the
answer is straightforward.
‘Yes and No.’
Everybody who has received the Holy Spirit
speaks in tongues as a sign.
But not everybody also operates in the gift
of tongues.
In other words, in the bible, we find two
types of speaking in tongues.
The accompanying sign of speaking in
tongues, according to Jesus in Mark 16:17:
“And these signs shall follow those
who believe ... in my name ... they will
speak with new tongues ...”
And the gift of tongues, according to Paul
in 1 Corinthians 12:10-11:
“To one is given ... to another different
kinds of tongues .. one and the
same Spirit works all these things,
distributing to each one individually as
He wills.”
