through tons of bible verses as the Holy<br />
Spirit would lead me.<br />
I was super excited whenever the Holy<br />
Spirit gave me an insight into bible<br />
scriptures or when he illuminated a<br />
passage to me by showing me how<br />
passages were connected.<br />
I have never been to a formal bible school,<br />
apart from the theological training I got<br />
at a college called the Harvest School in<br />
Pemba, Mozambique.<br />
Yet, I have had this insatiable appetite for<br />
the word of God.<br />
This is the work of the Holy Spirit.<br />
So the word and the Spirit need to work<br />
together.<br />
The Spirit illuminates the word.<br />
You need both: the Spirit and the word.<br />
My spiritual father Leif Hetland puts it,<br />
tongue in cheek:<br />
“If you only have the word, you dry up.”<br />
“If you only have the Spirit, you blow<br />
up.”<br />
“But if you have the Spirit and the word,<br />
you grow up.”<br />
