When dawn’s pink fingers
stretch gently across the land.
May we reach out with
open hands.
Perhaps at other dawns
we have raised a fist
unable to release
yesterday’s sorrows
and leftover stress.
May our hearts rest
in the innumerable gifts
of this present.
May we delightfully
unwrap them
one by one.
