2. How did you come up with
the name Charisma?
I had many talents back
then. I used to dance, play
football and doing music.
Everyone liked my charisma
so I decided to name myself
Charisma.
3. How has your upbringing
influenced your music?
My friend inspired me to start
doing music but it wasn’t my
thing. He forced me to write
a verse when I was in high
school. Since then, i always
put effort in the work and my
friend is proud of the man
I have become, plus I love
doing music now.
4. How do you see Malawi
in the African music scene?
Malawi is way too far
comparing to other countries
because we don’t have the
equipment they use but we
trying our best and one day
we going to be out there.
5. Craziest thing you ever
done?
Craziest thing, lol the picture I
took in toilet.
6.Any embarrassing moment?
No embarrassing moment
7. Favorite performance?
Eli Njuchi’s Album launch and
UMP awards 2016
8. What was the feeling
like to have 3 nominations in
one award?
How I felt? Well I was so
happy because last year I
really worked and I deserved
it
9. What’s your best
achievement in music?
The award meant a lot to me
and it’s not something you
can just get, you really have
to work so hard to get, so I
feel it’s an achievement to
me.
And been getting deals with
companies coz right now I’m
working with Gotv on some
campaign
10. Being awarded best
hip hop live in last year’s
awards, how much effort did
u put in for that recognition?
Best hip hop live, I had too
many shows. To be honest, I’m
the best hip hop performer
Malawi has ever produced,
I make the crowd go crazy
and I always give the fun they
want
11. We see u follow
fashion too, how does that
contribute to your music?
Fashion contributes a lot
to my music. Hip hop is
everything, the style of your
swag is one of them because
people don’t see you as a
regular person and it’s good
to dress up and look good at
all times.
12. What would you do
with your last MK50, 000 in
your pocket?
50k well, I would buy masks
for my fans.
13. Any plans of
collaborating with
international artists?
It’s not easy to collaborate
with international artists
on our own, so I can’t say
anything on that because it’s
too expensive.

14. What is the biggest
change in your life as far as
music is concerned?
It made me to limit myself
from the ghetto, because I
was gonna end up like those
kids drinking and smoking
every day, “anthu osowa
zochita”. So when I got
famous, I had to change my
lifestyle and look at me now, I
have really changed because
of music.
15. Take us through the
making of Kubanda?
Kubanda wasn’t a song that
was gonna come out. I was
just playing in the studio and
I had to send it to one of
my friends and it was just a
VN. My friend sent it to some
groups then boom everyone
was asking for it. I decided
to finish it and release it out
there, and kubanda took
number on made on Monday
for 2 months or something.
16. When do we expect an
album or EP?
Working on something and
might drop it in April
17. What does Charisma
like to eat at home?
Charisma likes chiwaya
18. Any special words to
your fans
I love all my fans, keep on
supporting me and I will keep
on bringing nothing but the
best music you deserve.
