APRIL 2021
PERSPECTIVE
FROM THE FRONTLINES
CELEBRATING OUR 40TH YEAR OF RESTORING HOPE
From Our Executive Director, Ed Hosack
EMERGING DIFFERENT!
What did we learn? What did
we discover about ourselves,
our processes and our priorities
while we were ordered out of
our well-constructed “ways” and
left to reflect on “what we have
been missing?”
We are determined that CCM’s
service delivery models emerge
from this global/local crisis
“better” than ever before and
reaching populations of need that were previously
underserved.
We watched the demographics of our client population
shift, seeing many people for the first time. We also
noticed who was missing from our interactions with
neighbors during the crisis. Innovative approaches were
designed and piloted with partnering communities to
address this new awareness.
While the world was in lockdown, CCM’s Board of
Directors, Staff and Partners delivered our 2030 Vision
for Cabarrus County and CCM’s 2025 New Horizon
Strategic Plan. We are especially encouraged by the
alignment of our Plan with those of our strongest
community partners.
Get involved with us as we all
choose how we will emerge from
this crisis to shape our future.
CCM’s New Horizon Strategic Plan will immediately
impact our community in 2021 through innovative
efforts that will create new programs and services in
partnership with the communities we serve.

“For everyone born of God overcomes the world.
This is the victory that has overcome the world.”
– 1 John 5:4
From Our Director Of
Community Engagement, Jeremy Burleson
RESPONDING DIFFERENT!
As a community, we have an opportunity to make a positive impact with our fellow
neighbor like never before. This pandemic has not just created an intensification
of where the needs lie within our community, but it has also outlined very real and
effective ways that YOU can effectively change outcomes.
We can creatively become better aware of the needs and how to act on those needs,
while doing so through complementary community connections.
As we at CCM seek God’s will for this community through the implementation of the
2025 New Horizon Strategic Plan, we pray that YOU will walk alongside and engage
with us by identifying ways in which you can get involved.
Cabarrus and Southern Rowan counties will assuredly emerge BETTER because of
what we know God has in store.
EMERGING...more Engaged
Not just simply recognizing the need of our fellow
neighbors, but acting on that need by using
our God-given gifts and resources to improve
outcomes.
EMERGING...more Connected
Not connected in the sense of more screens or data
to consume, but connected within this community
through shared interests and values. Developing
like-minded partnerships between businesses, faith
community bodies and with your fellow neighbor.
EMERGING...more Creative
Utilizing skills or methods that we’ve learned to
produce positive results throughout this crisis, and
applying those as we outline the new, innovative
way of community impact.
It's National Volunteer Month
