Numbers 13:26 And
they went and came to
Moses, and to Aaron, and to
all the congregation of the
children of Israel, to the wilderness
of Paran, to Kadesh;
and brought back word to
them, and to all the congregation,
and showed them the
fruit of the land. 27 And they
told him, and said, We came
to the land where you sent us,
and surely it flows with milk
and honey; and this is the fruit
of it. 28 Nevertheless the people
walled, and very great: and
moreover we saw the children
of Anak there. 29 The
Amalekites dwell in the land
of the south: and the Hittites,
and the Jebusites, and the
Amorites, dwell in the mountains:
and the Canaanites
dwell by the sea, and by the
coast of Jordan. 30 And Caleb
stilled the people before
Moses, and said, Let us go up
at once, and possess it; for we
are well able to overcome it.
Pentecost was one of the
holy holidays instituted
by God to contain the spiral
in human life and its vicissitudes.
After Jesus rose from
the dead, He appeared to His
disciples for 40 days. Then,
when they were all gathered
together with Him on the top
of the mount, He was taken
up into Heaven before their
eyes (read Acts 1:1-11). However,
before He left, Jesus gave
His believers a very special
and wonderful promise: “... I
will ask the Father, and he will
give you another Counselor
to be with you forever— 17
Jesus has not left us alone
Adeboye donates transformer
to Kwara community
By Sam Eyoboka
THE Gbagede Amoyo
Community, Ilorin,
Kwara State was recently
thrown into wild jubilation as
the General Overseer of the
Redeemed Christian Church
of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch
Adejare Adeboye donated a
500 kva electric transformer
to the community.
The entire community went
into ecstatic jubilation at the
arrival of the transformer.
Many prayed, many composed
songs euloging the Ifewara-born
influetial Daddy
G.O., Adeboye. They composed
songs designed to
praise the man who bailed
them out of perpetual darkness.
They have lived without
electricity for several years
and had to express joy on the
sight of the transformer in the
community.
The gesture, on behalf of
the General Overseer, Adeboye
by senior members of the
church in Ilorin the Kwara
State capital, was part of the
church social responsibility,
CSR, programme of the
church.
In RCCG, it is a tradition
that the church Corporate Social
Responsibility has its root
in Christianity and the church
is meant to be an example for
the world to follow and not
for they are stronger than we.
32 And they brought up an
evil report of the land which
they had searched to the
children of Israel, saying, The
land, through which we have
gone to search it, is a land that
eats up the inhabitants thereof;
and all the people that we
saw in it are men of a great
stature. 33 And there we saw
the giants, the sons of Anak,
which come of the giants:
and we were in our own
sight as grasshoppers, and
so we were in their sight.
Numbers 14:23 Surely
they shall not see the land
which I swore to their fathers,
neither shall any of
them that provoked me see
it. 24 But my servant
Caleb, because he had another
spirit with him, and has
followed me fully, him will I
bring into the land into where
he went; and his seed shall
possess it.
them. They are so interconnected,
a beautiful tapestry of
God’s eternal mystery of life
that can only be understood
in His Son Jesus Christ. Because
in the earth realm, we
are constrained by times and
seasons, we shall be considering
God’s plan in Pentecost;
but it shall not be in complete
isolation from the preceding
order.
There is the orderly, chronological
sequence that we
can tracked. Passover tells us
that Christ, our Passover, is
sacrificed for us. For without
the shedding of blood, there
is no remission or forgiveness
of sin - Heb. 9:22. Unleavened
"We see the Crporate Social
Responsibility as a conscious
avenue for Christians to make
visible impact in various key
areas of society. Where many
see societal challenges and its
see an opportunity to take
