Dana Marie Gilbert Knappenberger 1961-<strong>2004</strong><br />

ST. JOHN — Dana Marie Gilbert Knappenberger, 43, died Feb. 22 at Stafford District Hospital. She was born Jan. 13, 1961, at<br />

Lawrence, the daughter of Verlin and Suzanne Sandusky Gilbert. She was a 1979 graduate of Lawrence High School and<br />

received her bachelor of science degree from the University of Kansas in 1983. She married Don J. Knappenberger Nov. 22,<br />

1992, at Lawrence. A resident of St. John for 12 years, coming from Lawrence, she was a mathematics teacher at USD 350 St.<br />

John Junior and Senior High School and had previously taught school at Sunset Elementary School in Lawrence. She was a<br />

member of First United Methodist Church, a Sunday school teacher, church youth ministry coordinator, United Methodist Women,<br />

Parent Teachers Organization, Hesperian Club, a 4-H leader, Ida Long Goodman Library Board and a coach for youth soccer,<br />

basketball and t-ball, all of St. John. Survivors include her husband of the home; one son, Tyler Hammond of St. John; one<br />

daughter, Kaylea Knappenberger of St. John; her parents of Lawrence; one brother, Darren Gilbert of Lawrence; and one sister,<br />

Sharna Miller of Lawrence. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Robbie Fall officiating. Burial will be<br />

at Fairview Park Cemetery in St. John. Friends may sign the book from 1 to 8 p.m. today at Minnis Chapel in St. John. The casket<br />

Roy L Lindsey 1936-<strong>2004</strong><br />

Roy L. Lindsey, 67, of Great Bend, died Feb. 22 at Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita. He was born July 26, 1936, at Jefferson<br />

City, Mo., the son of Roy Elmer and Marie Hodgen Lindsey. He married Rose Ann Hoadley Oct. 9, 1954, at Great Bend. She died<br />

April 17, 2001. He was a resident of Great Bend since 1947. Lindsey was a member of First United Baptist Church and Eagles,<br />

both of Great Bend. Survivors include his companion, Joyce Tauscher of Great Bend; one son, Roy Leon Lindsey Jr. of<br />

Leavenworth; four daughters, Nina Dove and Donona Howard, both of Cottonwood, Ariz., Teresa Seachris of Great Bend and<br />

Sharon Bieberle of Larned; three sisters, Joyce Koons of Lindsborg, Sue Snider of Denison, Texas, and Sandy Monroe of Great<br />

Bend; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Joan Johnson. Funeral will be at 10<br />

a.m. Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home in Great Bend, with the Rev. Dr. Doyle <strong>Smith</strong> officiating. Burial will be at Golden Belt<br />

Cemetery in Great Bend. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to service<br />

Darren Robert Wornkey, 24, of Great Bend, died Feb. 21 at Great Bend. He was born Nov. 20, 1979, at Great Bend, the son of<br />

Steven Ray Sr. and Rebecca “Becky” Sue Sander Wornkey. A lifetime resident of Great Bend, he was formerly employed by the<br />

Holiday Inn of Great Bend. Survivors include one son, Nicholas Ray Wornkey of Great Bend; one daughter, Heaven Marie<br />

Wornkey of Great Bend; his parents of Great Bend; grandfather, Gilbert J. Sander of Great Bend; and three brothers, Steven Ray<br />

Wornkey Jr., Alan Lee Wornkey and Chad Dale Wornkey, all of Great Bend. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roy<br />

and Maxine Wornkey; his grandmother, Joyce M. Sander; and one uncle, Jim Sander. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at<br />

Bryant Funeral Home in Great Bend, with the Rev. Don Paden officiating. Burial will be at Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call<br />

JETMORE — Marty J. Lampe, 40, died Feb. 22 at his home. He was born June 18, 1963, at Wichita, the son of Quentin “Bud”<br />

and Eunice Pitts Lampe. He married Kris Litzenberger July 19, 1984, in Jetmore. A lifetime resident of Jetmore, he worked for the<br />

city of Jetmore. Lampe was a member of United Methodist Church and Sons of American Legion, both of Jetmore. Survivors<br />

include his wife of the home; two daughters, Kelsey Lampe and Kyra Lampe, both of the home; his mother of Jetmore; two<br />

brothers, Delane Lampe and John McKivergan, both of Jetmore; and two sisters, Tavanna Pesicka of Otis and Janice <strong>Smith</strong> of<br />
