OLATHE — Due to adverse weather conditions, memorial services for Hazel H. Grossardt, 85, who died Jan. 28, are rescheduled<br />
for 11 a.m. today at North Cross United Methodist Church, 1321 N.E. Vivion Rd., Kansas City, Mo. The family will receive friends<br />

Doris May Honomichl 1918-<strong>2004</strong><br />
LARNED — Doris May Honomichl, 85, died Feb. 1 at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital Long Term Care in Larned. She was born<br />
April 27, 1918, in Lucas, the daughter of James and Edna Perry Rezabek. She married Edwin A. Honomichl May 31, 1940, at<br />
Beloit. He died Oct. 31, 1981. A resident of Larned since 1967, coming from Lincoln, she was a dietary aide at Larned State<br />
Hospital, a nurses’ aide at Hammond Holiday Home and a care provider for people in their homes. She was a member of United<br />
Methodist Church and American Legion Auxiliary, both of Larned, and ZCBJ of Timken. Survivors include two sons, Erwin “Ernie”<br />
Honomichl and Eugene Honomichl, both of Larned; two daughters, Marlene Chlumsky and Ramona Flaherty, both of Larned; one<br />
brother, Edward Rezabek of Athol, S.D.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one step great-grandchild. She was<br />
preceded in death by two brothers, James Rezabek and John Rezabek; four sisters, Agnes Brozek, Helen Brozek, Alta Davis and<br />
Francis Thacker; and one grandchild. Funeral will be at 10:<strong>30</strong> a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Charles Grant<br />
officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Lucas Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and Wednesday, all<br />
at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel in Larned, and from 9 a.m. to service time Thursday at the church. Memorials are suggested to<br />

LARNED — David W. Gillett, 56, died Feb. 2 at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, in Wichita. Survivors<br />

Warren D. Schmidt 1921-<strong>2004</strong><br />
CHASE — Warren D. Schmidt, 82, died Feb. 2 at Good Samaritan Center in Lyons. He was born June 27, 1921, at Pioneer<br />
Township in rural Chase, the son of Henry and Alma Ott Schmidt. He was a 1941 graduate of Chase High School. He married<br />
Rosemary Evans May 22, 1947, at Bushton. A lifetime Rice County resident, he was a farmer and a maintenance man for<br />
Pioneer Township. Schmidt was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, administrative council of Salem UMC and pastor<br />
parish relations board of Salem UMC, all of Bushton; and American Legion and Veteran of Foreign Wars, both of Lyons. He was<br />
a U.S. Army veteran, having served in World War II and receiving a Purple Heart. Survivors include his wife of the home; one son,<br />
Michael Schmidt of Hutchinson; one daughter, Linda Cesar of West Plains, Mo.; one sister, Faye Lukens of Sand Point, Idaho;<br />
one granddaughter; and two great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Karen Denise Schmidt; one brother,<br />
Gene Schmidt; and one sister, Genevive Geist. Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Vernon<br />
Maelzer officiating. Burial will be at Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery in Bushton with full military honors by Ft. Riley<br />
Honor Guard. Cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the register book from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday at Sillin Funeral Home in<br />

Alice Coogan Watson 1944-<strong>2004</strong><br />
SANTA FE, N.M. — Alice Coogan, 59, died Jan. 28 at her home in Santa Fe following a lengthy illness. The dire diagnosis of<br />
untreatable cancer was made last May. Born March 27, 1944, in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to Helen Townsley and James Alan Coogan,<br />
she grew up in Caracas, Venezuela, attended schools in Caracas, Great Bend, Ethel Walker Preparatory School in Stamford,<br />
Conn., and was graduated from Stanford University in Stanford, Calif. She married Lyall Watson, a companion for 12 years, June<br />
21, 2003, in Santa Fe. The couple made their home in Santa Fe in recent years and maintain a home in Ireland. Survivors include<br />
her husband of the home; one brother, Alan D. Coogan of Portland, Ore.; one niece, Alexis Coogan, living in Spain; Uncle Russell<br />
Townsley of Russell; and several cousins. Her parents James Alan and Helen Coogan, a brother James Coogan and uncle Bill<br />
Townsley preceded her in death. After completing studies at Stanford, she was assistant director of Stanford Alumni Travel<br />
Association. In following years she organized and directed tours throughout the world and was a freelance travel director. In later<br />
years she made her home in San Francisco and South Carolina in the United States and in several countries including Colombia,<br />
Chile, South Africa and Ireland. Mrs. Coogan was associated with Episcopal Church. Watson is a marine biologist and author of<br />
several books. Alice requested to be cremated, to have a small family ceremony and her ashes scattered by her husband and<br />
brother in one of her favorite coral reefs. Memorial donations may be made to PMS Hospice Center, 1400 Chama Ave., Santa Fe,<br />
