Prayer for this time of Coronavirus
Keep us, good Lord,
under the shadow of your mercy
in this time of uncertainty and distress.
Sustain and support the anxious and fearful,
and lift up all who are brought low;
that we may rejoice in your comfort
knowing that nothing can separate us from your love
in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Amen.
Prayer for the local elections
As people all over the country prepare to vote in local elections on 6 May, we join with Christians across
this city to pray for those who are offering themselves as candidates, for those who will administer the ballot
and for those who will vote
God of hope,
in these times of change and uncertainty,
unite our city with your hope, guide our leaders with your wisdom.
and give us courage to overcome our fears.
Help us build a future in which all may prosper and share;
and to work for the peace, the welfare (the shalom) of this city and within it to find our own shalom;
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
Amen.
