PROGRAM SHOWCASE:
JACKSON STREET MENTORING
Like our other services, Jackson Street Mentoring is
youth-focused. Our goal is to match youth with an adult
they enjoy being with and can trust that could become a
permanent connection in their life.
Mentors (trained volunteers) are caring community
members who want to build a healthy relationship with a
vulnerable youth to cheer them on and support them.
Mentees (youth) get to spend quality one-on-one time
with their mentor doing activities, accomplishing personal
goals, or just hanging out and talking.
I’m grateful to be a part of the
Mentoring program—it’s opened a door
to an entire community of inspirational
people, including my Mentee, Jordan.
He would doubtless be surprised to
discover that his energy and resilience
constantly affirm my dedication to
Jackson Street’s mission. —Seymour
JORDAN & SEYMOUR
Me and my Mentor, Seymour, have a good friendship
and I feel glad to know him. We like going on walks
together and I enjoy talking with and listening to him.
I especially like how insightful and mentally
stimulating our conversations can get! —Jordan
