LPU Responds to COVID
The Student Success Initiative assists LPU students with remote learning, offers Core Life Skills, and
provides Career Services helping develop LPU students into transformational leaders.
Rising With Courage
During an unprecedented year, we have witnessed
LPU students not just survive, but thrive. In fact, more
students achieved academic honors by making the
Dean’s list for Fall 2020 than the previous two fall
semesters. Amidst all the change and challenges, Life
Pacific executive leadership, faculty, and staff came
together and with an innovative and flexible mindset,
an indomitable spirit, and while following the leading
of the Holy Spirit, implemented safety protocols and
introduced new resources and services all geared to
help students succeed. With real-time responsiveness
at the forefront, LPU led the way while navigating
the challenging circumstances created by COVID-19.
Following are just a few of the cutting-edge adaptations
and amazing outcomes from this unprecedented year.
COVID Task Force
LPU developed a COVID-19 Task Force comprised of faculty, staff, and
executive leadership to streamline information and communication,
and make sure that all COVID-19 related mandates and regulations were
followed and implemented, helping to keep the LPU community safe.
Safety Protocols
In accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines, LPU implemented
numerous safety measures including appropriate social distancing and
masking protocols, temperature-check kiosks, a mandated check-in process
via the University mobile app, and hand sanitation stations. Quick adaptation
to an online learning model and adjusted on-campus living situations, LPU
served students through all phases of the pandemic while ensuring the
highest levels of health and safety standards.
Student Resources and Supports
Identifying the specific mental, emotional, and spiritual impact of the
pandemic on students and their overall well-being, LPU focused fundraising
efforts and collaborated with internal and external partners on the Student
Success Initiative. Expanding resources and services, the initiative included
Emmaus Road Counseling and Success Coaches. Effective utilization of
emerging technology allowed LPU to expand and improve connectivity for
students to classroom learning and campus programs.

Emmaus Road Counseling is offered free of charge to help LPU
students navigate the difficult mental and emotional aspects of
pursuing a college education.
