However aswe get older we may need some support andassistance.What kind of support is available?• Getting in and out of bed.• Bathing and washing.• Cooking meals.• Hygiene clean to support Health &Safety, e.g. spillage, animals, worksurfaces, bathrooms etc.The amount of home care needed can betailored to suit your Care Act assessed needs– from a visit once a day to a much greateramount of help.To see a list of home care providers in theBradford district, our listings start on page 28.Bradford Enablement Support Team (B.E.S.T)The Bradford Enablement Support Team(B.E.S.T.) provides short term support topeople who cannot care for themselveseasily because they are ill or disabled.The aim is to help you maintain yourindependence and stay in your own home.The service is tailored to meet your needsand works with you to set achievable goalsto maximise your independence and lastsfor a limited period and can be planned tomeet your support needs 24 hours a day.An action plan will be created and you’ll besupported to reach these goals. The B.E.S.T.plus service supports individuals to achievetherapy goals that are set and monitored bytherapists.Who is this for?• Older people.• People with physical disabilities.• People with sensory loss includingdifficulty with sight and hearing.• People with mental healthproblems.• People with learning difficulties.When is the service available?The B.E.S.T. service works 24 hours a day.We will do our best to meet the times youwould like us to provide home care, but dueto the high demands on the service this is notalways possible.Is there a charge?The B.E.S.T. service is free for up to the firstsix weeks. If you receive support from theB.E.S.T. service for more than six weeks, youwill be required to pay for the service.
