Pathways
into WAYJO
Inclusivity & Connection
WAYJO is not just about membership in one of our bands. WAYJO offers
opportunities to develop musicality, embrace cooperation, learn leadership
skills, encourage persistence, and also create long lasting friendships.
Some musicians may be part of a WAYJO band for one year, others for up
to ten.
No matter how long your tenure is, you are a part of our WAYJO family.
Every musician who passes through WAYJO is important to us.
In striving for ways to make the pathway into WAYJO clearer, more positive
and inclusive, we proudly introduce WAYJO Pathways.
Pathway programs help young musicians strive towards their goals in
musicianship through expanded experience, and to become better musicians
and people. These programs include the new WAYJO Club and the ongoing
Young Women in Jazz workshops.
WAYJO welcomes young musicians no matter their gender, cultural or
social background, sexual orientation or physical ability. We look forward to
welcoming all musicians interested in performing, composing, conducting
and leading our bands into a united future.
