WAYJO 2021 Season Brochure
Since 1983, the WA Youth Jazz Orchestra (WAYJO) has been at the forefront of Australia’s emerging jazz performers, conductors and composers. The 2021 season is no exception, bringing together traditional and contemporary jazz with an exciting roster of WAYJO alumni guest artist. Demonstrating the versatile possibilities of the big band format, this is a season of jazz with something for everyone, spanning traditional repertoire through to an upbeat dancing selection of Latin and World Jazz. WAYJO also present a generous serve of original, commissioned work from alumni Alana Macpherson and Kate Pass, plus premiere two new emerging composers at the Modern Masters show as part of the continuing Composer in Residence program (recipients announced end of May). Tickets are already selling, and if previous seasons are anything to go by, you'd be wise to book your favourite shows soon so you won't miss out!
